Expert Analysis

Mackenzie had a strong all-around performance at Wade’s World Showcase, showing why she’s such a well-rounded guard. She displayed excellent court vision, consistently finding teammates in stride and setting them up for easy buckets. Her passing instincts and decision-making stood out throughout the day. Mackenzie also proved she can score it herself, confidently knocking down shots from behind the arc. On the defensive end, she was relentless—pressuring ball handlers and making life difficult for opponents. Her ability to impact the game on both sides of the floor made her one of the more complete guards at the event.

Mackenzie was a prospect who had a great day at the GVSU Elite Camp. Her decision-making, impact on both ends, and chemistry with teammates were separators on the court. Mackenzie knocked down a corner jumper and took a steal quickly the other way for two points. She scored many layups throughout the day, finishing effectively off one and two feet. A college-level play that she made happened on a hard drive to the basket. She missed because of a foul, but did not complain or react. Instead, Mackenzie turned up the heat on defense, applying full-court pressure on the ball without fouling. Success leaves clues–next play. Mackenzie was doubled on the block, kept her eyes up, and dished a perfect bounce pass to a cutter for the assist. Her aggressive defensive pressure and anticipation produced several steals throughout the day, leading to transition points. Mackenzie is a guard I’m excited to see with her talented Eisenhower teammates this winter.

Mackenzie was a category five hurricane for Michigan Storm Elite 2028 at the Cagers Invitational. Her defensive pressure disrupted ball handlers and resulted in several steals. She secured defensive rebounds with authority, using strong rips to keep defenders from tying up the ball. Mackenzie was dialed in from beyond the arc, draining many triples, including a smooth corner three after drifting off a screen. She dished strong kick-out passes when her drive wasn’t there and was one of the most impactful two-way players on the court.

Mackenzie brought her competitive spirit to the Compound on Sunday and her contributions on both ends helped Eisenhower take home the title trophy. Mackenzie used a smooth spin dribble to score a contested floater off two and converted a drop step off two in the paint. Her relentless effort led to several offensive rebounds and steals. Mackenzie drilled a wing 3 and caused fouls by driving hard to the basket. She used a high-rip move to convert a step-through layup and knocked down a crucial free throw. Mackenzie will be an exciting player to follow this winter at Eisenhower.

Mackenzie stood out because of her grit defensively, great effort, and efficiency on the offensive end. She shot well from the perimeter and finished very well around the rim, many times with her non-dominant hand. This was the best ball I’ve seen Mackenzie play on both sides of the ball and she earned recognition as a Top Performer at our Freshman Showcase.

Mackenzie brought her best to our Freshman Showcase and had an outstanding day with team 5. She threw long passes to teammates for assists in transition, beat defenders to score left-handed layups off the dribble, and knocked down multiple triples from the corner. Mackenzie proved her toughness by tying up the ball on defense, sealing defenders in the post, and creating turnovers with her effort on the ball. Mackenzie is going to be a key contributor who I am excited to see compete more for Ferndale this winter.
