About Jasmine

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play at a fast, high energy pace, always looking to push in transition and create momentum. Defense is my foundation. I take pride in getting steals and turning them into quick scoring opportunities. I’m unselfish with the ball, always looking to set up my teammates and keep everyone involved. Overall, my game is built on intensity, smart playmaking, and using defense to fuel strong offense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Previously, tearing my ACL and made my mentality strong stronger and most definitely more wiser. I want to be strong minded. I’ve learned that nothing is ever given and that I always need to work for what I want. I would say that I’m a very outgoing person and a very coachable player.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’ve gotten student of the month awards academic awards.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve been playing basketball since the third grade and I most definitely develop new skills. I wasn’t always confident in myself, especially after coming back off the injury I lost a lot of my confidence. But just getting on the court more and playing and just seeing I’m just doing something that I love my confidence came back. I am somebody that shows great sportsmanship and teamwork.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have faced adversity to its highest point. Some players aren’t strong minded enough to keep going. But I kept going. I stayed strong minded because this is what I love doing. I’ve also been through a big-time injury my junior year I tore my ACL my meniscus. It was a long year of recovery, but I never stopped. I never rested. I was always in the gym trying to get back to my sport.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college thats going to support me in every way, academically and in sports. Basketball is something I take serious and I want a team that’s as serious as me and that wants to achieve things. I want a Coach that believes in me, no matter what and pushes me to be the best version of myself.

Salcedo showcased speed, athleticism, and a quiet competitive fire, using her quickness and change of direction to break defenses down. She consistently got into the heart of the defense and created opportunities for three-point shooters on the perimeter. Her playmaking ability was emphasized, and she stood out, showing strong decision-making and court awareness. She finished inside, pushed the ball in transition, and facilitated effectively. Defensively, Salcedo can be a disruptor on the ball, using quick feet and anticipation. Offensively, she can get to the rim and shows some ability to finish at the rim and through contact.
