Nelson had a great season with the Lancers. She has a strong build with great footwork and speed to go along. Has a great overall IQ for the game but definitely stood out for her defense and hustle. She averaged 5.7 points, 1.2 assists, 1.9 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. Nelson was very effective on the floor with her relentless defensive pressure and her ability to force turnovers. Hustling for the loose ball and 50/50 plays. The future looks bright for Nelson who already as a freshmen has a college build, speed and mindset.

Jayda Nelson will be a big addition to a Salpointe team that lost several impact Seniors last year. Jayda is a good all around player that can play multiple positions and defend multiple positions. She is a very tough defender and she is a good rebounder for a guard. She should be a player that will see heavy minutes as the season goes on for the powerhouse Lancer squad.
