Richardson was a consistent scoring threat for LeGYnds throughout the weekend. Was the top shooter on the team, often spotting up along the perimeter and cashing out when her teammates kicked it out to her. She’s not just a spot up threat, as she’s a good athlete with a plus wingspan. Pushed in transition for scores, and also knifed her way to the rim in the halfcourt. It was great to see her start her EYBL sessions strong.

After a quieter Mustang tournament to end 2025, Richardson came out guns blazing as a shooter. She was also in double figures at half, making her a key part of Newcastle dominant run to lead by 22 at the break. Shot it very well from distance, while also being a connector as a passer in transition. Scoring is very much her calling card, and perimeter shot making like Monday will open up driving lanes for her smooth ability to attack the rim.

. The ball handling skills plus the vision allows her to play the role of a tall point guard. In transition breaks did an excellent job in changing directions with the eyes up the court looking to advance the break with a pass. During 5/5 play she was able to take advantage of miscommunication defense attacking the rim scoring on the layups. Nice footwork at the top of key on the break stepping 1-2 into the knock down 3-pointer.
On defense the length and gap defense rotation created turnovers off the deflection or steals. Long low stance and a quick lateral first step keep the ball ballhandlers in front. The thing I really liked was the ability she must go get the defensive rebound and bust out forward on the dribble to start the break. The transfer from Carl Albert adds more height and athleticism to an already very talented Lady Racer program.

Big guard that stood out with the aggressive downhill drives getting to the rim repeatedly Saturday. Showed a nice pull up jumper in transition at top of key. Great rebounding guard that can get a double double every night.

A combo guard that had a sensational freshman season at Carl Albert had transferred to Newcastle for this season. The combo guard adds a shooter and ball handler to the Lady Racers roster. Great height and long wing span that covers lot of space making it tough for opposing guards to get into their sets. A uptempo guard that excels in the open floor where she can use her change of speed to get easy scoring opportunities. 2028 guard that came on strong last season towards the playoffs

After Richardson’s productive year as a scoring specialist at the high school level, she looks ready to be the head of the snake for LEGYNDS’ talented group. Double digit scorer in their final three games. In the first game she was quieter as a scorer, but her defensive chops were on full display. Quick, with long arms, she’s makes life very difficult for opposing lead ballhandlers. Her tone setting defense on the ball and potential to heat up from deep will be crucial for LEGYNDS and their upcoming national schedule.

Richardson’s scoring ability has been the headliner for her. She got buckets again, complete with some of the best headfakes and ball fakes in Oklahoma. But there was a stretch where she ripped the opposing lead ballhandler twice in a few possessions, leading to easy points on the other end. Did a good job of balancing when to move her feet to make the opposition work. And knowing when to gamble to cause the aformentioned steals. Continuing to elevate her defensive game will make her one of the more complete players in Oklahoma.

One of Oklahoma’s newest programs is largely a continuation of an exceptional BTR group, which was no stranger to playing up. Picking just one of the exceptional rising freshmen and sophomores to highlight is a tough task, but let’s focus on Richardson. The skilled guard finished the high school season with big buckets in the biggest games for Carl Albert. She’s an impressive combination of athleticism and skill, playing at her own pace as a strong all around scorer. A match up against Unity will be a strong test, as a must watch game to kick off the tournament on Friday night.
