Kate averaged eight points and seven rebounds per game for Rockford this season. Head Coach Brad Wilson described Kate as a “matchup nightmare for teams”, which is spot on. Her mobility, brute strength, crafty handles and finishing, toughness, face-up game, perimeter shooting, relentless motor on both ends, outstanding defense in the post, and court vision have been a joy to watch throughout her career. Everyone has their favorite players to watch, and Kate has been one of mine. Not just because she used to play rugby, which immediately struck a chord with me as a former rugby player myself, but also because of how she plays the game. Kate never stops working hard and is a selfless player who couldn’t care less about being in the spotlight. She just goes about her business and gets the job done. Kate was a steal for Northwood and one of the biggest rankings risers in her class from the first time I saw her play at the Breslin Center as a sophomore in 2024 (D1 All-Breslin Team) until now. She is pound for pound and inch for inch the strongest forward with the highest motor and the fiercest rebounder I’ve ever evaluated. I’ve seen Kate clamp down on a basketball with a kung-fu grip and swing a 6-foot post through the air like a helicopter propeller. Kate has developed her craft as an offensive player and graduates as a three-time all-conference selection. She will be an outstanding player in the GMAC and has a bright future ahead of her at Northwood.

Kate dwarfs opposing forwards with her size, strength, and ferocity in the paint. A play that captured Kate in a nutshell happened as an opposing forward attempted to pry a rebound away. Kate ripped the ball powerfully with her strong hands and swung the defender around like a helicopter. Nobody outmuscles, outworks, or takes the ball away from Kate. She went flying in from the perimeter to secure offensive rebounds, scored put-backs, forced fouls, and knocked down free throws. Kate sees the floor very well, handles the ball with both hands, and has excellent passing instincts. She had a comprehensive impact on the court. Kate led Rockford with 13 rebounds, dished out four assists, and poured in nine points at the West Michigan Hoop Summit.

Kate steps into her senior season as one of Rockford’s most dependable forces, bringing toughness and consistency to every matchup. A Northwood commit, she anchors the paint with her strength, timing, and nonstop motor, routinely tracking down rebounds and creating second-chance opportunities. Her physicality on defense and ability to finish around the rim make her a crucial piece of Rockford’s lineup, and she’s poised to be one of the conference’s most impactful interior players.

Kate, a Northwood University commit, was a driving force behind her team’s impressive run to a state runner-up finish last season. A fierce competitor with a high motor, she brings intensity and focus to every possession. Her ability to score, defend, and rebound makes her one of the most complete players on the floor. With her leadership and drive, Kate will have her sights firmly set on guiding her team back to the Breslin Center and finishing the job this time around.

The writing was on the wall when I saw Kate play for the first time in the 2024 State Semifinals–she had clear potential to be a special prospect in this class. We’ve seen Kate play many times since–regular season games, travel, summer league, elite camps, etc., and she’s continued to improve during every evaluation cycle. Kate is a bulldog on the court. She makes opponents uncomfortable with her physical tenacity and relentless defense. Kate keeps opposing forwards from having high percentage looks at the basket, and she’s consistently bottled up high-level prospects on the defensive end. Kate drives with determination to finish tough shots around the rim. She has quick feet, crafty footwork, good passing instincts, and has developed her accuracy as a perimeter shooter. Kate is a fierce rebounder and has proven herself to be a top ten prospect. She’s our top power forward, and I believe she will be a difference maker for Northwood after graduation.

Kate was locked in from deep Friday evening at The Smoke, draining multiple threes to help lead her team to a win. The Northwood commit is a do-it-all type of player who impacts the game in countless ways, and her hot hand from long range added another layer to her performance. She’s a tough, versatile competitor who brought it on both ends.

Kate, who suits up for West Michigan Drive , is coming off an incredible high school season where she helped lead her team all the way to the state championship game. She’s on of the toughest, most physical players out there – relentless on the glass and a dominant force around the rim. Her strength, grit, and no-quit attitude set her apart. With her final AAU season ahead, a big spring and summer are definitely in the cards.

Kate didn’t have eye-popping numbers on the offensive end, but she played outstanding defense and gave her team extra scoring chances by working tirelessly on the boards. Kate battled to secure offensive rebounds, blocked a shot in the paint, and dished an assist to a teammate for a triple. Kate knocked down five free throws for the Rams, finishing the game with five points and nine rebounds.

If you like hard-nosed toughness and scrappy basketball then you have to love Kate as a forward prospect. As a former rugby player I have a special appreciation of how Kate’s rugby instincts show up on the basketball court. She battles for rebounds and 50/50 balls, drives hard to the basket, and forms a wall on defense. The exciting development in Kate’s game is her improvement as a 3-point shooter. She knocked down multiple 3s for the Rams recently and is progressing as a perimeter threat.
