An on-ball pest who can cause a lot of problems for her matchup, but can also bring the ball up and run things from the top of the floor. She had a couple of injuries today, but each time she got back up and got right back on the court. Says a lot about the fight and heart she plays with.

Kate displayed textbook mechanics during her free throws. She shoots with confidence, balance, a high arc, and a wrist-snapping follow-through, sending the ball straight through the net. Kate demonstrated smart off-the-ball instincts, understanding spacing, and made good backdoor cuts. She popped outside, caught the pass ready to shoot, and drained the smooth three-pointer from the wing off a BLOB. Kate recognized nobody protecting the basket, cut straight to the rim, and finished with an and-one layup. She uses pocket dribbles, lateral pushouts, crossovers, and changes speeds while maintaining balance to keep defenders on their heels. Kate knocked down multiple triples in the game and has a multidimensional skill set that makes her an impactful member of the backcourt for Full Package 17U Gold. She put her talent on display during the PGH Great Lakes Region Finals.

Castro was all over the court today, and the things she brings to the table aren’t always noticeable, but she leaves a huge impact on the game. She hit a couple of deep ones from the outside, but it was from the midrange to the paint where she made most of her plays. She’s an active player with a ton of energy on both ends of the floor.
