Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
Unselfish, hardworking player. Is on the ground for every loose ball and crashes the boards aggressively on both the defensive and offensive glass. Able to get to the rim, shoot, and score in the post when needed. Smart offensive player who knows when to make the extra pass or set an off-ball screen. My biggest strength is creating opportunities for my teammates.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
Very coachable player. Always the first one in the gym and last out. I put 100% into every rep and hit the floor on every loose ball. I listen attentively and receive feedback well. I have an intense mentality on the court, and value kindhearted and supportive leadership off the court. I am a captain of my high school team as a junior, and plan to use my position to create a positive team culture.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am involved in volunteering as a coach on a special olympics basketball team called the Heated Lions. I also am a leader of Party With a Purpose, which puts together fundraisers for Boston Children's Hospital. I also volunteer with Rivers Serves. I worked for multiple summer camps and was involved in many volunteer organizations over the summer.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have developed as a leader and teammate by being a camp counselor. I am able to serve my community in a variety of ways through volunteer organizations and environmental service. Through being a team leader, I have learned how to keep a group organized and motivated. I value letting everyone's voices being heard.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I have exercise-induced asthma. At first, I let it affect my athletic performance, but since I have learned strategies to manage it. After working diligently to improve my respiratory health and approaching every day with a positive mindset, I have learned to face this challenge with optimism.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college that I fit into. I want an academically rigorous college that values perseverance and hard work.
