Expert Analysis
BJ Batson | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Ash showed a lot of versatility on the offensive end complimenting her very impressive size. She showed a lot of skill, very good athleticism, and excellent mobility. She scored on one play after sprinting from end to end with a nice runner on the fast break. On a baseline out of bounds play she used her power to back the smaller defender down toward the basket before rising up and converting a half hook/floater over her shoulder. She also demonstrated a high basketball IQ with nice back door cut and finish at the rim when she was being overplayed by her defender on the perimeter. A lot to like about Kendra’s game and she is another player I look forward to seeing again this travel ball season.

is a player who is going to continue to gain a lot of attention. Watching her this weekend, it was clear how valuable she is to her team, as it was difficult for her coach to take her off the floor because of the impact she brings on both ends of the game.
Offensively, she does a great job of creating space and putting herself in position to score. She has a good feel for the game and consistently looks for opportunities to be effective, whether that’s getting to her spots or making the right read. Her ability to generate offense makes her a reliable option within her team’s system.
Defensively, she competes and contributes in multiple ways, helping her team stay connected and competitive throughout games. That two-way impact is what makes her stand out even more.
As she continues to perform at a high level,

has provided the interior presence Mount Vernon has been searching for, and her growth throughout the season has been impossible to miss. She has taken a significant leap since the start of the year, becoming a reliable scoring option and a steady presence on the floor.
Ash is effective in the paint, using her size and touch to finish through contact, but her versatility is what truly elevates her game. She is comfortable handling the ball in space, can attack from the wing, and has shown the ability to step out and knock down perimeter shots. This multi-dimensional skill set makes her a difficult matchup and allows Mount Vernon to play through her in a variety of ways.

Kendra is steadily building her reputation and is poised to make an immediate impact at Mt. Vernon High School. Last season, she starred on the Fishers JV team, which finished with just one loss. Kendra provides the post presence Mt. Vernon needs to contend for another sectional championship, while also showing the versatility to play on the wing. She continues to develop her overall game, combining length and athleticism around the rim with scoring ability on the perimeter and effectiveness in pick-and-roll situations. Kendra is set to elevate Mt. Vernon’s program alongside teammate Zoey Woods.

Last Fall, Kendra flashed a great deal of potential at our PGH Freshman Showcase as a Fishers rookie. She has an athletic frame, nice length, and she moves around the floor very well for her age/size. She continues to improve skillfully each time I see her, and she should help a Marauder program that doesn’t return a Varsity regular over 5-10. Look for Kendra to add immediate post defense and rebounding to a guard-heavy program in 2025-2026.
