Kierstyn joined this West Virginia Thunder team for the July run, and she has benefitted from playing alongside such an athletic, versatile group. She has a unique toolbox, as she has the height and length to play inside, but she also has the skill to step outside, play a point forward role from time to time, and knock down an open rhythm jumper. She is extremely long, and as she continues to gain strength, look for her to absorb contact better moving forward. As for now, her attention to building that skillset at a young age definitely gives her an advantage each time out.

Coming into the event WV Thunder Perry ’28 sustained a terrible blow with an injury to Keilah Mitchell Keilah Mitchell 5'10" | SF Evansville Reitz | 2028 State IN playing for her high school team in the live period in Indiana in June. When I saw her post on social media I called TJ and he told me he had a six footer coming in to try and help fill the void. I did not know it at the time, but the player was Kierstyn and she actually is high school teammates with Keilah at Evansville Reitz. In a tough situation coming into a new (very good) team, Kaiser had an excellent performance in her debut. Coming off the bench for Perry, Kierstyn brought instant energy and a lift each game I watched when she checked in. She is a very long 6’1 and she used her reach and very good leaping ability to help control the boards on both ends, picking up several offensive rebounds and put backs in the games I saw. She also was very good operating on the low block in the post. Whether it was catching and finishing a quick pass at the rim from Chami Williams Chami Williams 5'8" | CG Ben Davis | 2028 State IN or Maddy Wallace Maddy Wallace 5'6" | PG Carmel | 2028 State IN or when given time showing off her excellent footwork and post moves scoring on the block. She is a very intriguing player who I look forward to seeing more of over the next year. She fit in seamlessly and looked like she had been part of the team all Spring and Summer. She did not need to show her perimeter skills, but did look confident and comfortable shooting the basketball from the free throw line.

Kierstyn is a highly intriguing Southwestern Indiana prospect who might not yet have the popularity statewide, but she has already drawn her share of college onlookers. She is extremely long, fluidly athletic, and a little bouncy. She can utilize her height inside the paint to block shots, rebound, and score it over smaller defenders. She’s also skilled with the ball in her hands, she can push it in transition and act as a point forward in their offense, and she can knock down an open 3-pointer when set and in rhythm. As she finishes growing and continues to gain strength, look for her to be even more effective.

I had heard a lot about Kierstyn the last two years, and I’ve seen her on film, but this was my first time watching her in-person. She is incredibly intriguing, and she has a very high ceiling that can potentially draw some Division I offers. She is extremely long, fluidly athletic, and still growing. She’s every bit of 6-foot and probably 6-1 now. Once she settles in at her permanent height and starts to get stronger, I think you’ll see her turn another corner and be able to take her skill and ability and become a much more aggressive force at all three levels. She could be a really good one in this 2028 class.
