Anderson’s high school career is in the rear-view mirror and she can put her full attention towards transitioning to Division I Georgia Southern. The 22 points Anderson scored for North Carolina gave her team a great chance to prevail in the Carolinas Classic for what would have been the fifth time in six tries. Roughly a week ago, Anderson was part of a Mallard Creek team that prevailed in a 49-45 nail-biter over Hoggard in the 8A state championship game at Wake Forest. A two-sport athlete who also excels as a flag football players, she averaged 14.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game. 

Kiara Anderson Kiara Anderson 5'7" | PG Mallard Creek | 2026 State NC is so smooth with her ball handling getting to the basket with speed and losing her defenders.  When she wasn’t handling the ball, she was relocating off the pass to get the open look and score some points.  On defense, she steps in front of her opponents on help side defense creating turnovers and getting the possession back for her team.

Anderson is another of the seven seniors that comprise this season’s Mallard Creek team. She logged over 29 minutes of court time and contributed nine points to the Mavericks’ winning effort. Seven rebounds were also part of Anderson’s evening and five of those took place in the first half. Anderson was also one of two for Mallard Creek that dished out a pair of assists. She paced the Mavericks’ efforts in the first half with seven of those nine points when Mallard Creek had built a 21-18 advantage over Hoggard. Anderson’s travel career includes time with Team Hickory and she received several Division I offers. 

Kiara Anderson Kiara Anderson 5'7" | PG Mallard Creek | 2026 State NC is a fun ball handler to watch with her shifty moves that are so effective against defenders.  Her high motor makes it difficult for anyone to keep up with her throughout an entire game, and she has a nice step back shot taking advantage of her quickness knocking down the shot from deep.  Her aggressiveness on defense pays off, too, grabbing steals to push the other direction.

Kiara Anderson Kiara Anderson 5'7" | PG Mallard Creek | 2026 State NC is a high motor guard handling the ball well with efficiency and speed.  She is shifty getting the ball by her opponents, and she makes the best adjustments to hit her teammates with a good pass.  She’s been an excellent scorer, especially this season, showing off her ability to score on all levels attacking the basket or creating her own space for the shot.  Her defense is tough on the ball knocking it away from her opponents.

Kiara Anderson Kiara Anderson 5'7" | PG Mallard Creek | 2026 State NC does a nice job moving well with the ball using her speed and shifty moves to get to the opening.  She’s quick making her smart cuts effectively even backdoor cuts leading to an old fashioned three point play.  She explodes in the passing lanes grabbing the steal and scoring on solo fast breaks.

Kiara Anderson Kiara Anderson 5'7" | PG Mallard Creek | 2026 State NC does a nice job getting into the opening without the ball, and she facilitates plays well handling the point guard position.  She had a nice step back move knocking down the three pointer.  She attacks the basket well using a double pump to get the opening to make the dish to her teammates.  Her aggressiveness on defense certainly slowed down her opponents from making plays and getting the ball up the court.  She does a nice job communicating with her teammates repeating what her coach is trying to tell everyone.

Kiara Anderson Kiara Anderson 5'7" | PG Mallard Creek | 2026 State NC was a good ball handler pushing the tempo and finding her open teammates hitting them in stride.  She was a tough defender, too, moving all over the court on the press and hustling after loose balls to gain possession.  Her high motor is certain to find ways to constantly contribute all over the court.

Kiara Anderson Kiara Anderson 5'7" | PG Mallard Creek | 2026 State NC knows how to take advantage of every opportunity she gets.  She reads the floor well being able to use screens effectively, and she’s even quick off the pass knowing exactly how she wants to move to get the open look.  She has a nice shot from deep, and she doesn’t need the open look to make it.  She crashes the boards on both ends getting after rebounds making sure to take advantage of offensive boards.
