Johnson was one of the signature transfers of the offseason. She will be bringing her many hoops talents from Lucy Beckham to one of the premier 3A teams in the state in Oceanside Collegiate. A product of a Mosch Ball team that won a 17U championship game at Run 4 Roses in Louisville – and she was a key catalyst in that contest by virtue of an 18-point performance. Johnson competed in all 22 games last season with the Bengals and averaged 6.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. She will be part of a Landsharks team that has qualified for back-to-back 3A Lower State championship games. 

It is one thing to play up in a 17U division as an eighth grader. It is another to be a rising freshman and score 18 points in a 17U championship game at Run 4 The Roses. That is what Johnson got accomplished for Mosch Ball . Johnson previously played at Lucy Beckham and is bringing her many basketball talents to one of the premier 3A teams in the state in Oceanside Collegiate. Johnson would compete in all 22 games last season for the Bengals while excelling as a scorer and rebounder. She averaged 6.3 points and 4.5 boards in a Lucy Beckham uniform in 2025-26. Another element to Johnson’s game that earns her plenty of playing time is her toughness. 

Johnson’s eighth grade season would be played at the varsity level with a Lucy Beckham team moving from 5A to 4A. Except Johnson will be with another top-tier Lowcountry team – 3A Oceanside Collegiate. Her grassroots career has included a stint with Mosch Ball which is one of the premier travel programs in the Lowcountry. Johnson would play in 22 games last season and averaged 6.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest for a team that has earned a playoff victory each of the last three seasons. She joins a Landsharks team coached by Mandy Harrison that has qualified in back-to-back seasons for the 3A Lower State championship game.

Last season’s 5A Lucy Beckham team featured only two eighth graders. Johnson was one of those two from the 2030 class that earned Bengals roster spots in 2025-26. Lucy Beckham played its first four years as a 4A team, then moved up to 5A (Division 2) the past couple of seasons and will return to 4A starting with 2026-27. Johnson would compete in 22 contests last season for the Bengals and averaged 6.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Back in March, it was revealed Johnson would join Mosch Ball and play up in class on its 16U team.
