About Lakyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

A pass-first combo guard with great court vision and a consistent three-point shot, capable of creating for teammates and scoring from deep.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Confident, team-oriented, and unselfish. I play with a high basketball IQ, look to create opportunities for others, and stay composed in pressure situations while doing whatever it takes to help my team succeed.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Active member of NHS, FFA, and 4-H with extensive experience in livestock judging and exhibition. Honored through participation in Kansas State livestock judging events and recipient of numerous awards for livestock showing. Developed strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills through agricultural and academic involvement.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through community service, I have developed strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and time-management skills. Volunteering has taught me responsibility, adaptability, and the importance of giving back to my community while working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

While I enjoyed watching Rookstool put together multiple post moves from the elbow to get to the hole, and smartly using her handles to split defenders to create for her teammates, what especially grabbed my attention was her interior passing. At times it was a thing of beauty watching her and a teammate work the pick and roll game from the three point line area. She showed a strong ability to deliver quick and soft passes for the rolling teammate to snatch and score.
