When you look at CCA’s Varsity line up last season and who they are going to return this Winter, you notice that there is going to be a lot of opportunity to go around. Someone I expect to take over most of their responsibility to lead this group will be PG – Zella Evans. Evans saw spot minutes last season with their primarily Senior lineup. She played more of the SG or off-guard position and waited for her chances but this Winter is going to be a whole different ball game. Evans will be looked at as their main scoring threat, main distributor, and main on-ball defender. She is going to need to continue to grow in her individual game as she moves into the season but she is truly a natural in this game. You can’t really explain it other than that so as long as she keeps working and learns how to lead, she is going to like the way her season plays out.

This AAU season is going to be one of growth for Zella Evans Zella Evans 5'5" | PG/SG Clear Creek-Amana | 2029 IA of CCA High School. Evans is coming off of a respectable Freshman campaign with her Clipper team, where we saw glimpses of some really good ball out of the SG/PG. Now it’s all about how she builds on that early production. If you look at Evans as a competitor, she is scrappy and loves making plays for those around her. She isn’t the type to take forced shots or anything of that nature. Instead, she lets the game come to her and she makes good decisions a majority of the time out there. Evans is going to be a great addition to this program this season. She plays the game the right way and she is going to be looked at to produce this upcoming Winter at CCA with the roster they return so all of this experience is going to be good for her in the long run.

CCA High School is going to be looking for production next Winter as they moving into the season with all of their previous main producers leaving due to graduation. That is going to leave a lot of opportunity on the table for prospects like PG/SG – Zella Evans Zella Evans 5'5" | PG/SG Clear Creek-Amana | 2029 IA . Evans, the little sister of Lena Evans Lena Evans 5'8" | SG Clear Creek-Amana | 2026 State IA , is one of the only players within the program this last Winter that saw Varsity minutes while being a Freshman so I expect her role to change significantly over the next six months for the Clippers. She should start as a Sophomore and from there, she should put up some big time numbers on both sides of the ball. This Spring Evans will be on the road with Missouri Phenom and I can’t wait to see how she competes against that level on competition. She is going to face some tough opponents coming up her shortly and that is only going to make her better.

Zella Evans Zella Evans 5'5" | PG/SG Clear Creek-Amana | 2029 IA is going to surprise a lot of spectators of the next few seasons once she gets to the Varsity level at CCA. Right now the Clippers are really good so I don’t expect Evans to move up this Winter but she has the skill-set to makes some waves for this program in the future. Evans pulls out some crafty moves when she plays, she can currently score from all offensive levels and she defends her position well. Currently this is someone competing at the JV level but that’s good for her experience. You’d rather that be the case than playing up and never seeing the floor throughout the season.

Zella Evans Zella Evans 5'5" | PG/SG Clear Creek-Amana | 2029 IA is an aspiring talent out of the 2029 Class that most haven’t heard of just yet. Evans displays all the basics to become a great player over her high school career if she stays dedicated. This is someone that has an efficient handle, she can make open shots off the catch or dribble, she is a fearless driver into the lane looking for constant contact, and she makes good choices with the basketball a majority of the time. There is a lot of changes happening at CCA at this moment in time so I’m not sure how their new system will work once they hire a new HC and staff but if Evans finds her place in the program early, she will be a name you hear more and more as time moves forward.
