Junck was a welcome late addition to Sunday’s Expo and we were thrilled she could make it. Libertee wasted no time making her presence felt. The 5’8 freshman from Iowa brought relentless energy to both ends, demonstrating quick feet, aggressive defense and an impressive perimeter shooting touch. Her athleticism was particularly evident on the glass, where she elevated above taller players to secure rebounds. What really separated Junck was her endurance. During the final game, while many others were running on fumes, she was still racing end to end as though the day had just begun. We saw Junck light it up at the Meltdown in the Twin Cities this summer, and Sunday simply reinforced the positive impression she made in July. Libertee is a skilled, competitive guard who can direct an offense, defend effectively and her teammates better

Hinton is always loading up with new talent within their Freshman Class. It seems like each Winter it’s the same things all over again. They have two or three hoopers are going to be joining the Hinton group and they are going to be able to dominate the 2A Class throughout Iowa if they are put in the right positions to succeed. In this case we are specifically talking about Libertee Junck at the PG position. Junck might start as the Varsity PG as a Freshman. I’m not sure. They will have options but this would be a consideration if I’m on the coaching staff. She is skilled enough to be able to run her team’s offense, she can defend the 1 spot with ease, all while making those around her better with how she competes. We will see early on in the season where she falls within this team’s lineup but this is a name we are going to mention more than once throughout the Winter by the looks of it.
