We heard Zellmer’s name called a couple of times this Winter for Hinton High School as she gave her best effort within a seasoned program. Zellmer is going to have a big role this upcoming winter so it’s good that she is getting some run this Spring with AIA out of DSM. This is a hooper that stands at 5’8 with lengthy arms, quick hands, and active feet. She usually makes settle plays that help her team in the long run but those plays don’t always necessary show up in the stat book. We are talking about things like deflections, tips, diving on the floor for loose balls, and stuff of that nature. All in all, Zellmer will someone out of the 2A Class this upcoming season to note moving into the year. Their program is going to have a few spots to fill and Zellmer is ready for the opportunities.

Mesa Zellmer has a good feel for the game and often found herself in the right spot on Sunday. She runs the lanes effectively in transition. Often beating her defender down the floor.
Stella struggled to finish around the rim early; however, she began to find her mark at the rim as the day went on.
Zellmer is a constant threat from distance especially off the catch. She showcased her touch from deep by knocking down multiple threes in the 5v5 games.
Mesa has a good skill set to build on and will become a highly effective player as she adds consistency to her game.

Mesa Zellmer is going to bring some fire to the Hinton Basketball program this Winter while they come off their 2A State Title from a year ago. Zellmer has touch, a feel for situational basketball, and some good length to pair with her quick feet and fast acting hands. She understands to create contact first as a creator at the PG, leaving her defender in the dust or in a weird situation as she blows by. At this event, we saw Zellmer show some glimpses of what the future might hold for herself and those glimpses were impressive. Pair that along with the fact that she will be able to learn under a D2 PG this upcoming Winter in Sydney Doeschot for high school ball and you start to see what possibilities might come about in the near future.

at the guard poison. Zellmer has shown promise, poise, and a lot of heart over the past few seasons while working on her game. She is someone that can be a pass-first PG or she can create for herself in the blink of an eye if need be. This Winter she should be able to learn underneath their stars already on roster. If she can do that, her future becomes even more promising.
