Hinton is in a respectable spot within the 2A Class and a big reason for that is their size as a group. Someone that really holds it down for this crew, that was a playmaker as a Freshman last Winter, is Raelyn Kempema Raelyn Kempema 6'1" | C/PF Hinton | 2028 State IA . In reality Kempema is one of the most well-rounded prospects out of the Forward position for the 2028 Class. She has that size every coach loves, she moves well to pair along with that size, and she can also spread the floor from the outside in a number of different ways. If Hinton wants to make it back2back 2A State Titles, Kempema is going to be a major piece to that puzzle. The more she can control, the easier it becomes for everyone else so that will be intriguing to see as we move into 2026.

Hinton High School is favored to win the 2A State Champions once again this season because of the personal they will return. Someone who was a big piece to the team puzzle last time around, who will be put in the same position this time around is their C/PF – Raelyn Kempema Raelyn Kempema 6'1" | C/PF Hinton | 2028 State IA . Kempema stepped on the Varsity floor as a Freshman and killed it in her efforts. She played with confidence, she played with discipline, she never seemed to get down on herself or her teammates, she played with skill, and she always left it all out on the floor. All of those things led her to being a tough individual to stop offensively and someone to note defensively. She stopped a lot of teams with her stature in the middle and that is something not everyone can say for themselves.

I am expecting Hinton High School to repeat this Winter as 2A State Champions. When you see that they will return everyone, while bringing in some really talented 2029’s and some players off injury, you start to understand that no one should stand a chance against this team as a whole out of this Class. They have players like
Raelyn Kempema
Raelyn

will return at over 6’1 in the Post with some experience under her belt. That’s only going to make her more deadly over time. This group will have their star PG return to lead the way for one more go around in
Sydney Doeschot

but someone is going to have to take charge following this Winter and that player could be Kempema.

Stepping up and making an instant impact on the brightest stage isn’t the easiest task but Raelyn Kempema Raelyn Kempema 6'1" | C/PF Hinton | 2028 State IA of Hinton High School accomplished this feat just a few weeks ago when the Blackhawks brought home the 2A State Title. Kempema has been demonstrating her worth all season long but in Des Mones, everyone got to see it first hand and it was noteworthy. Kempema is a 6’1 Center/Power Forward that has an efficient scoring ability, an act for getting important rebounds on both offense and defender, and she is impactful on the defensive side of the ball as a stopper near the bucket. Overall she has shown a lot of promise up until this point in her basketball career. If she continues to produce like this and the correct recruiting coordinators are in the building, who knows who might offer her before she closes out her high school career.

When you look at Raelyn Kempema Raelyn Kempema 6'1" | C/PF Hinton | 2028 State IA as a freshman recruit, you see a lot of promise. Kempema is someone that comes in as a freshman at 6’1 and she controls the paint. To start off her morning contest, she was sitting with her back to the basket on the block, dominating her smaller matchup with a pound dribble and a strong finish through contact. Hinton did a great job at times of getting Kempema the ball in favorable positions, where she had to do very little work other than to use her size and that is another main reason for some of her success in her first career State game. I do not want to under play the fact that she is a skilled post though. If she catches with her back to the basket and some time, she is usually going to score and that’s really nice to have on any team.

A name we have not mentioned prior to this, but someone that we are going to keep relevant, is the freshman Center/PF for Hinton and that is Raelyn Kempema Raelyn Kempema 6'1" | C/PF Hinton | 2028 State IA . Kempema also comes in listed between 6’1/6’2 and she is going to be someone that makes waves at the 2A level over her career. Her natural size, coordination, and future potential is impressive. Next year the Blackhawks will return Doeschot, Creighton Women’s Volleyball commit – Bailey Boeve Bailey Boeve 6'0" | PF Hinton | 2026 State IA , and now Kempema at over 6’1. With good coaching and the right mindset from the athletes, watch out for this team. Not only this upcoming Post Season but for years to come. As it pertains to Tuesday night, Kempema finished with 15 points and 6 boards. What was most impressive to me about this showing is that she was scoring offensively at all three levels. Not just by the hoop like a young and inexperience post player. She was even making shots from three point land and that is going to be very intriguing moving forward.
