When searching for a true point guard at the Summer Kickoff Classic, Tennessen was one of the first to get our attention us over the weekend. The floor general from Legacy Hoops Elite is a shifty ball handler with superb vision of the offensive floor. Her ability to weave to the basket through several defenders shows her control of the ball, and her quick decision-making shifts the momentum on the court for her team’s offense, whether that’s a swift drive in and kick-out for a 3-point shot, or an open look in the paint. When offense seems static, Livia takes her signature dribble drive, consistently finishing at the rim and earning trips to the free throw line. The rising senior from Cannon Falls involves herself in her team’s offensive identity, focusing on tempo, footwork, ball handling, passing, and agility.

Tennessen brought all of the energy to the PGH Expo. She was aggressive on defense, super active on the glass, and gave the extra effort on more plays than we could count. The 5’9 guard was highly effective in transition. Using her length and timing, Livia jumped passing lanes to force turnovers, then got the ball up the floor to the right places, allowing her teammates to pick up easy buckets. The Cannon Falls junior was effective in the half-court offense as well, using her well-timed cuts to get open looks at the rim. After averaging 16.3 points per game as a sophomore, we expect Tennessen will spend another year in the cockpit for the Bombers.

#100 – Things have been rough in Cannon Falls over the past couple of seasons with the Bombers winning just three times last year. If there’s one player who can lead the program to a better place it is Tennessen, a fierce competitor who is driven to do whatever she can to help her team. That was obvious at the Sophomore ID Camp where Livia showed offer her excellent court vision and ability to push the pace. She is a skilled ball handler who uses her speed and quickness to elude defenders and finish through contact with the scorer’s touch. When you combine that type of skill with relentless energy and a healthy dose of bounce you have a prospect to watch.

Last year, Tennessen was relative unknown, but fast forward and that has changed. The combo guard out of Cannon Falls is a fierce competitor and is willing to do whatever it takes to get it done. As the day went on, she just kept getting better and better. Outside of her great court vision and willingness to push the ball ahead, her ability to finish in traffic and her body control was impressive. Livia put up pretty good numbers as a freshman last season at Cannon Falls and will look to do more of the same this upcoming campaign.
