Having clearly made a name for herself in the PGH Minnesota Class of 2027, Drange has continued to grow her game this summer. The Legacy Hoops guard has extended her range, making the three-point shot a larger part of her offensive identity. In close games, Ellie’s teammates look for her on the line, trusting that she will hit shots when they’re needed most. She makes space for her shot when the ball is not in her hands, creating openings for her teammates to find her on the perimeter. Drange is also a strong presence on the defensive end. With her swift lateral movement and imposing wingspan, she takes away passing and driving lanes from her opponents. A strong, scholarship-level prospect, Ellie’s versatility is a distinct advantage for whatever team she plays on.

Heading into her sophomore year, Drange has made some big leaps in her game. The first thing to jump out to us on Sunday was how much bigger and stronger she is. With a larger frame and an increased level of confidence in her play, Ellie was able to make the most of the day. She was impactful all over the floor, moving off the ball and setting screens, hitting three-pointers, and corralling rebounds. On offense Drange shared the ball well and didn’t ever panic when facing an aggressive defender. We’re fans of her calm, business-like demeanor and willingness to do whatever is needed of her on the court. Ellie played a big role for the Pioneers last season and these days her level of experience is really beginning to show.
