Maddy Rice Maddy Rice 5'9" | SG Dowling Catholic | 2026 State IA is going to be a Guard on this team that is asked to produce off of the ball. Their offense is suited for their Guards to really eat in several different ways and I think that Rice is the type of player that can produce without having the ball in her hands at all times. Rice has solid size, better than average coordination, and she can score it from all three levels, especially shooting it from three. She may not be the prospect that you see shoot and say that she is, “lights out”, from deep but she certain can fill up the bucket in quite a hurry. When others create off the dribble and create opportunities for her from deep, she usually does a good job of making the most of those situations with a bucket from behind the three point line in some sort of way. Rice will have a great season this Spring as long as she finds her niche. If she can do that and find where she fits within this group, she is going to do well.

Maddy Rice Maddy Rice 5'9" | SG Dowling Catholic | 2026 State IA had a nice showing at the PGH Iowa Top 250-Expo this past month in Grimes and she is looking to build off of that momentum going into this season at Dowling Catholic. Rice is a Shooting Guard with versatility at her position. She is pretty good at shooting the ball, displays a solid handle on the drive, and is better than average at staying in front of her defender. On a team and in a program like Dowling Catholic, I’m not sure if Rice will see the varsity floor much this season with the talent they have on roster but if she does, I think she can make the most out of her opportunities and help the Maroons have a successful season. If you have been following any of the pre-season articles or evaluations that have been published going into this high school season, you know Dowling Catholic is suppose to be a Top team in 5A this winter and Rice can’t wait to be apart of that.

Maddy Rice Maddy Rice 5'9" | SG Dowling Catholic | 2026 State IA is a work horse from start to finish! She can guard all 5 positions on the floor and has a goal to outwork your best player. Maddy communicates effectively on both sides and knows how to defend/set ball screens. Her shooting ability forced the defense to extend allowing drive and kick opportunities for teammates. Also, she can shoot the deep 3 ball and can take you off the dribble. This player finishes well around the basket and has great footwork.
