Ma’Kaela is a nice, strong, compact, but athletic combo guard who can contribute in a variety of ways. She has speed & quickness, especially when she’s able to get out in transition. She is looking to shoot or score on each catch, and she can turn a corner and get downhill in a hurry. Additionally, she is so strong, she absorbs contact well. At the same time, she does have some creativity to her game, and she can find open teammates in positions to score. Defensively, she does a nice job of turning the ball when engaged.

MaKaela saw a significant increase in her playing opportunity from her Freshman year to her Sophomore year, and she backed it up, averaging 10.4 points per game for the Lady Wildkats. She is a very nice athlete in all directions, she has some burst as well, and she is a playmaker. She is more of a scorer right now than a traditional point guard, but she can defend the position and initiate the offense when needed. She will also make plays defensively, and she rebounds solidly at her size. If she can become more of a true point guard than a combo, I think it could definitely help her recruiting.
