Makenna was the big winner of the weekend to me. Really does it all. Good passer, runs the floor well. Can score with contact and get hot from 3. Great live ball moves and changes direction quickly.

Does a little bit of everything to add up to a big impact for a potential 6A State Tournament team. Helps out with some of the ball handling, and does a good job of playing with her head on a swivel when driving. Makes good reads on drives and even is starting to have some eye manipulation to trick defenders and free up her teammates. Gets up guards on defense with a tough mindset as well. Austin is having a strong sophomore campaign.

Scrappy sophomore, who made her mark throughout and really shined down the stretch. It started with a tough take to get the score within five. Moments later, she drained a three that made it an one point game. Throughout and after that stretch, she was apart of the havoc causing defense Choctaw used to further propel their comeback. Impressive start to her sophomore campaign. An example of always being ready when your number is called.

Makenna is a guard that I have seen for past couple of years. A player known across the high school ranks as a tough defender. On Saturday that held true. It was on the offensive end that was impressive. Tough hard nose drives in the 1-1 station transferred over when playing 5-5. A guard that when she turns the corner it is straight to the goal.
A smooth shooter that knocked down the outside shot that opened the driving lanes. Excellent rebounder for a guard that needed no outlet to start the break as her open court ball handling and vision was nice. 2028 to watch this season for the Lady Jackets

Austin is an energetic guard and smart decision maker. Made the right passes to teammates and took high percentage shots throughout 5 on 5 play. Did a lot of her scoring by getting downhill, where she was a good finisher for her height. Impressed with a late drive that saw her get low on a crossover, leading to a burst downhill to get by her opponent. And then a tough through contact finish. Plays with a similar toughness on defense and is trending in the right direction as she heads into her second year of varsity action.

is your guard. Always known last season for defense earing minutes at the varsity level. The sophomore role will increase this season as the Lady Jackets look to be an up and down team this upcoming season with the returning athletes on the roster. More scoring opportunities in transition offense will also come with points off turnovers.
Spoke with her summer coach and in conversation he mentioned that Makenna shot the outside shot at a remarkably high percentage. The combo guard fits in great with the 5 out offense Lady Jackets ran this summer. The addition and confidence to be more aggressive on offense and continued toughness on defense puts her on this breakouts list.

A guard that was hard to tell which end of the floor she likes playing the most. On offensive she moved with out the ball either relocating for a jump shot or cutting to the basket. Nice stroke on the jumper as hands and feet were ready., Impressive was the downhill drives. Go handles in the open floor making her a nice 1-2 combo guard
On defense she looked as if she was enjoying just as much as scoring. Quick lateral movement allowed to pressure the ball staying the hip pocket without getting blown by. Another 2028 that will be counted on more next season in school due ot the loss of graduation.,

Heads up guard, who’s adding depth to a traditionally strong Choctaw program that is in the process of reloading. Finding spots to make an impact with energetic play, including helping on defense with forced turnovers and pushing it in transition. Good spot as a role player to grow throughout the year and be set up for longterm success.
