About Maykayla
Expert Analysis
Brandon Bradley | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Maykayla unfortunately spent the better part of last year injured, so this Winter was her first time back on the court. She is a strong, very physical, and effortful front-liner who loves to seek contact to gain an advantage. She isn’t the tallest interior player, but she understands how to use her frame to create space and score over taller, longer opponents. She does have a little touch in the short corners and the mid-post as well. She’ll need to regain some explosion and improve at the defensive end.

Maykayla was injured a year ago and missed significant time because of it, including the 2021 grassroots season. She should help lead the frontline for the Wildcats this year, and she plays with a quiet toughness and assertiveness. She is powerfully strong, very physical, and she loves to initiate contact inside. She has some touch to about 12-feet, and she can work the short corners and mid-post a little. But it’s her ability to play with her back to the basket against taller girls that stands out.
