gained important varsity experience this past season while playing on a senior-heavy Lawrence Central team. Competing alongside experienced players gave her the opportunity to continue developing her confidence and understanding of the varsity level.
As a forward, Hollowell brings toughness, rebounding ability, and offensive versatility to the floor. She plays well inside, finishes around the basket, and works hard on the glass. Her physicality and willingness to battle in the paint give Lawrence Central an important frontcourt presence.
With several seniors graduating, Hollowell is expected to take on a larger offensive role this upcoming season. Her previous experience should help prepare her for increased responsibilities, and her continued development could make her one of the focal points for the Bears moving forward.

This past Saturday, Kristina made her first career start for Lawrence Central, a significant moment for the young freshman as she begins to gain early experience at the varsity level. From the moment she stepped on the court, her athleticism was evident—she showed quickness, agility, and a natural ability to navigate the flow of the game. Whether it was moving without the ball, cutting to the basket, or running the floor in transition, she consistently displayed the physical tools that set her apart, even as a freshman competing alongside more experienced teammates. What stands out most about Kristina is her poise and basketball IQ. Despite being one of the youngest players on the team, she moves with confidence and shows an awareness of the game beyond her years. She makes smart decisions with the ball, finds opportunities to create for herself or others, and competes with energy on both ends of the floor. Her ability to stay engaged and contribute meaningfully, even in her first start, speaks to her preparation and understanding of her role on a talented roster. Watching Kristina play is always a reminder of the potential she brings to Lawrence Central. She has moments where her athleticism translates into highlight plays, but she also makes subtle contributions—setting screens, making cuts, and providing defensive effort—that help her team succeed. While she is still gaining experience and developing consistency, it is clear that she has the tools, mindset, and competitive drive to become a key contributor in the years to come. Saturday’s performance was just the beginning, and it will be exciting to follow her growth as she continues to gain confidence and experience at the varsity level.

Hollowell impressed during the 5-on-5 competition with her activity on both ends of the floor. She showed the ability to get to the rim and knock down shots from outside, making her a scoring threat in multiple ways. On defense, she reads the game well, blocks shots, and stays in front of her opponents. At her height, she handles the basketball effectively and displayed creative moves in the low post, showing versatility across the court. Hollowell will be a strong addition to the Lady Bears program as she begins her freshman year.
