Morrill is a dynamic guard who thrives in transition, using her speed, ball-handling, and quick decision-making to put constant pressure on opposing defenses. She attacks gaps, utilizes crafty footwork to finish through traffic, and reads defenders early to create scoring opportunities. She also makes an impact defensively with active hands, strong lateral movement, and the ability to turn steals into transition offense.

When I walked through the door at the Destined for Greatness gym, her presence told me everything I needed to know. After watching her train, Mia is officially “THAT GIRL”! She is a big guard who can play all five positions on the floor if you need her to. However, I think she will be most successful as a two or three-guard at the collegiate level. Her size advantage and pure strength will allow her to easily post up smaller guards down low. She reminds me a lot of Rihyana “Rih” Kinsey—affectionately known as “Agent Zero”—who just graduated from La Vega and is now playing at UTSA.

Mia possesses elite handles and can power her way downhill with absolute ease. Her superpower is her strength, which sets up a lethal mid-range jumper. The mid-range game is practically a lost art, so seeing a player shoot it with that level of fluidity is incredibly impressive. Mia can literally knock down the middy with her eyes closed.

Bottom line: Mia is a next-level talent!  With her elite strength and her lethal mid-range jumper, she will be a nightmare for opposing guards to defend. College coaches, if you are reading this, Mia is absolutely the real deal.

Mia had a good all around game showing range from and a bunch of contested finishes with contact. She drove well in transition and took the baseline in half court sets. She got her hands on several balls on defense with steals and deflections. She is wearing the Fairfax Stars EYBL jersey this season.

Mia brings great vision and size, allowing her to see over defenders and make high-level reads as a passer. She attacks the basket with strength, embracing contact to finish and earn and-one opportunities. She handles the ball with confidence and shows the ability to initiate offense when needed. In addition to her playmaking, she has a reliable mid-range shot and can finish with either hand, making her a well-rounded offensive threat.

Mia is a very strong hard nose player that can play multiple positions on the floor. Great basket IQ and very crafty in her attack to the rim. She can grab a rebound and start a transaction break to create early offense for her team. One of the better athletes in the 2027 class who is consistent on the perimeter and can knock down open shots. Had a pretty productive AAU season picking up a offer from Rider University

Effective use of her off-arm to create space for good looks at the basket. Nice jab step from the baseline. Strong paint play.

Mia Morrill Mia Morrill 5'10" | PF/SF The Potomac School | 2027 State VA had a nice season for Bishop O’Connell. Mia is a little undersized when she is playing as a 4, but I felt like she held her own. Mia is a good defender with her willingness to get physical, and she has good athleticism. Mia is a good finisher and can play multiple positions. Mia was an honorable mention in the WCAC.

Mia is a versatile and active defender, and she plays hard. Mia does a good job playing bigger than she is in the paint, and she is fearless when she attacks the rim. Mia finished with 17 points.

Bishop O’Connell got a lot of contributions from different players in their win over William Fleming. One player that stood out to me was Mia Morrill Mia Morrill 5'10" | PF/SF The Potomac School | 2027 State VA . Mia had a handful of nice drives where she finished through people for a few and 1s. Mia battled on the glass, and she made the right pass a lot.

A very strong player that is very versatile she can play the power forward but she projects at the level as a small forward.She does a nice job of holding her line and embracing contact in any position she’s playing. Has solid length and athleticism, still a little raw but she is crafty and has a good self awareness whatever position she’s playing. A great role player that will probably have more of a scoring role this upcoming high school season!
