The scoring machine creates mismatches. Lloyd has great physical strength and uses it to her advantage whenever she decides to post up. She has a power game on the block as well as a finesse game which sees her get to her turnaround jumper. Her southpaw shooting touch is most impressive, a knockdown three-point shooter. Michelle had 10 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 2 blocks against Jackson County while being face guarded. College programs will want to get familiar with Lloyd’s robust game.
Michelle is a player who has been getting buckets in a variety of ways for the past year. As a freshman for Ola, she was named co-captain in her first season and her play backed up the belief that her coaching staff and teammates had in her. She finished the season as the team’s leading scorer with a total of 399 for the season while receiving 2nd team All Region honors. I have seen her a bunch this Spring with HER Elite
in several events and she seamlessly transitioned over to travel ball carrying her big offense bag with her. She has continued to score the basketball at a high clip for that team and received well earned recognition as a result. She finished the GBCA Live event averaging 17 points per game, including a 25 point performance in game one. She is a player with a very desirable skill set for college coaches in that whatever the setting, Lloyd can go get a bucket when her team needs her to.
Lloyd had an outstanding freshman season for Ola where she earned All Region honors while coming up one point shy of 400 scored on the season. She is a crafty lefty who utilizes her size well elevating over defenders when necessary, but also initiating contact at the rim and finishing through them. The lefty is a very good shooter from the midrange and behind the three point line while doing a very good job (especially for her age) of creating space with head fakes and jabs along with step backs and side steps. She is a player who could break a lot of records at Ola in the next three years and should draw the interest of several college coaches while doing so.
I was extremely impressed with Lloyd’s efficiency. I’m not sure if she even missed a shot against Miami Impact
, burying five threes to finish with 15 points and 3 rebounds as she let the game come to her. The lefty has a strong build on the perimeter, a tweener who can serve as both a 2 and 3. Michelle’s jump shot was buttery smooth, incredibly effortless as she torched the Miami Impact
defense. Lloyd drilled threes from the wings, hit one off the dribble and netted another in the corner off the catch. After averaging around 12 points per game as a freshman, expect Lloyd to explode in Year 2 at Ola.
Lloyd, who I mentioned hit eight threes in one game for Ola, had a an excellent freshman year with the heavy load of being her team’s best player. She didn’t flinch under pressure and finished the year averaging 12.4 points per game on 41% shooting, including an impressive 35% from three point range. The smooth lefty has very good size and strength which allows her to get her shot off over defenders on the perimeter and finish at the rim in traffic. Lloyd handles the ball very well and has the ability to facilitate the offense. Like Jadyn ShepardJadynShepard

, Lloyd will be surrounded by a lot more talent in travel ball where she will play with HER Elite
. All of the pressure of multiple defenders and junk defenses designed to limit her will go away. This should give the opportunity to show even more of her skill and offensive package. Michelle is definitely a stock riser in the ’29 class and a player that will be ranked soon.
