Peach Games Preview: Top Programs Headline Deep Field
In this article:
As we get closer to this weekend's Peach Games event presented by Prep Girls Hoops, let's take a look at some of the best programs and players that will be hitting the hardwood in Marietta. The event will take place at several locations in the area and has age groups ranging from 10U to 17U with around fifty different club organizations programs participating. Some of the best girls basketball in the country is played in the southeast and Georgia specifically, so the competition level will be high and Prep Girls Hoops will have six evaluators, including myself, there to report on all the action.

17U and

16U are both coming off of a very impressive 4-1 records at Nike EYBL Session One in Phoenix, Arizona and have some the best players in the country on their rosters. The number one player in Georgia in the 2029 class and one of the best players in the country regardless of class,

, who led her 16U team in Phoenix, could potentially be making the move to 17U this weekend. Something to definitely keep an eye on. The program's leadership feels strongly with the addition of Morris to that team, they have a legitimate chance to make a run for a championship. Jakaila Gaskin who is the number two ranked Sophomore in North Carolina is another headline player for the program. Gaskin has achieved about everything you can already in prep hoops and has offers from almost every major college program in the country. Another number one ranked player from
HER Elite
is Jayla Forbes from Florida, who is the top prospect in the sunshine state in the 2027 class. Forbes is a dominant force inside the paint with the ability to score consistently from 10-12 feet with her midrange jumper. One of the very best '27s in Georgia and best point guards you will find in high school basketball,

I have watched "G-Money" ,Ja'Nyia Cunningham, since she was barely in middle school and am very happy I get to see her play at another event before she graduates high school. Tough, skilled player with good size and strength. One player I have not seen, but heard a lot about is 6'9 post player Athiel Dhal who plays for their 16U EYBL team. Other players to watch:

(number two ranked 2029 prospect in GA) is a player I have been shouting at the roof tops about since seeing her play multiple times this high school season. She has WNBA written all over her with her size, skill, and elite athleticism as well. Frazier, who led the entire 15U division in scoring, was rewarded with her play with an offer from the University of Michigan. She has a large array of offensive weapons inside and outside of the paint at over six feet tall. Zoe Williams, also a top five ranked player in the 2029 class in Georgia, is a player whose stock has continued to rise over the course of the last year or so and she also received a division one offer from Liberty University at the conclusion of the event. Williams is a smooth operator at the point who can put the ball in the basket herself in a multitude of ways while spreading the ball around to her very talented teammates. The pattern continues as the number eight ranked junior in Georgia and a very intriguing prospect,

is a player whose game I have really grown fond of over the past year as well. She is a big, long point guard with a lot of skill and maturity to her game. Milan plays at her pace and does not allow the opponent to speed her up. She does an excellent job balancing and mixing her role as a facilitator of her team's offense with her ability to go get a bucket when she wants or needs to. Team Elite Hubbard had several other players recognized for their play as well and even more I look forward to watching this weekend:

- I saw a few of their teams in Charlotte playing at the Insider Exposure Super Scrimmage event leading up to the first Live Period. They were very impressive, especially the 16U team that is loaded with some of the very best sophomore (and younger) talent in the state. They were beating good 17U teams convincingly in North Carolina and will be competing in that division (17U) this coming weekend at Peach Games. Perhaps the best player on that team, is one of you have not heard of or haven't seen play.

just completed her first high school season (a noteworthy one) at Commerce after moving to Georgia from New Jersey. Niya is well over six foot, moves like the wind, and is a very smooth finisher with her dominant left hand. She has the ability to step out and knock down shots consistently from the mid-range, while also being a dynamic slasher to the basket with the ball in her hands. She will be another player in the freshman class in Georgia who has Power Four offers sooner rather than later. The backcourt for that team is extremely talented, athletic, and has a lot of big game experience with Braylon Whitehead and

is one of the better point guards in Georgia and on of the best sophomores in the Peach State. Izzy Jabaley is another experienced, skilled, player in the program from Fannin County where she has helped make history for her high school program. She recently received a well earned offer from Pike University in Kentucky. The Weaver sisters are going to do what they do wherever they play and for whomever they play, apply maximum on ball pressure defensively, make the right play and open shots, and help their teams win.
Winners United
-
Winners United
, founded by former Georgia Bulldog and NBA veteran Louis Williams, is one of the newer programs in metro Atlanta, but has also been very successful in its infancy winning local tournaments and gaining respect on the Nike circuit. I give a ton of respect to Lou as he seems to be replicating the playbook of several older travel ball directors by putting a strong emphasis on youth talent acquisition and development.
Winners United
has and has had very good older teams, but the program's strength lies in its youth movement where there are a handful of young players with the chance to be very high level prospects in the next few years. I have a lot of respect for the players on the older teams. Mack Satchel is a player any coach would want to have on their team. The pass first point guard in high school ball with North Oconee plays the game the right way with very high intelligence and looked excellent playing off the ball with more freedom when I watched her play the first tournament of the season.

is one of the more underrated guards and maybe players in the state. She did a great job delivering the ball to her talented teammates on time and in the scoring pocket while also showing the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter and break down defenders with her dribble in March. The previously mentioned youth movement is led by very talented players AJ Abdaltam,

AJ is the probably the most well know of the group and rightfully so as she is one of the very best middle school players in the country. I am also looking forward to watching Briashia Hill,

Redline - I have seen these two teams play a couple of times already and both have players that are talented enough to play in college. Most of their player come from very successful high schools programs. The club has no desire to join a circuit, but it's goal is simple. They want to get as many kids seen as possible by as many college colleges as possible on a regional level and rely on their product to sell itself without traveling across the country. They have had a lot of players sign and go on to play the game at the next level and will continue to do so with this group of players, the majority of which are currently sophomores in high school. No one had a better high school season in Georgia, all things considered, than
Blaklee Ledford

from Murray County. She and her older sister Callen combined to form one of the best dynamic duos in Georgia High School basketball culminating with a state championship from the two as they played their last year of prep ball together. Blaklee still has two more years and Callen will be continuing her academic and athletic career at Emmanuel College. Blaklee is one of the best guards in Georgia and had several choices of teams to play travel ball for. The younger Ledford is equally as skilled and was able to show just how good of a player she was the last two years while Callen got a lot of the defensive attention from opposing teams. She is accompanied in the back court by

are two kids that compete at a high level and are not afraid of a little physicality. They do not mind mixing it up and getting physical whether it is in lose ball situations or rebounding against bigger players inside. Both are skilled players, who hurt opposing teams with their ability to grab offense rebounds and get quick put backs multiple times a game. I have seen them do that with great success the last few years. Both are also capable of stepping out and knocking down shots from the perimeter.

was excellent in March when I saw them play as well. She shot the ball extremely well from the perimeter and did a nice job finishing on the break and inside.
A number of very good clubs also from Georgia and the surrounding states, including, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, and the Carolinas, will also take part in Peach Games as well. We wilhave full coverage over the weekend while games are being played and even more coverage the following week, so stay tuned to Prep Girls Hoops!
