Speaking of the Wolves of Newberry College, coach Johnette Walker also landed a commitment from a senior part of the nucleus at 4A Westside. Her commitment occurred on New Year’s Day. Clinkscales has been a mainstay for the Rams since her eighth-grade season when she played in 24 games. This season, Clinkscales’ Westside assembling has posted a 12-1 record with its lone loss occurring in a holiday tournament in overtime to 7A North Meck out of North Carolina – and that loss was only by one point. The Rams also received the top rank in the most recent 4A coaches’ poll. Clinkscales has won two state championships throughout her Westside tenure and is looking to finish her high school career with a third.
