Mya has been a foundational member of a Grass Lake team that has done nothing but win throughout her high school career. She helped the Warriors win four straight Cascades Conference Championships, was selected to the Cascades Conference Dream Team as a senior, and earned All-Conference Second Team honors as a junior. Mya had a huge 25-point performance against Michigan Center in their second meeting and was the MVP against Brooklyn Columbia Central in the Cascades Conference Championship. Mya inspired a second-half comeback, posting 15 points, seven rebounds, three steals, and two assists in the 52-42 win. Her smooth pull-up game, instincts and vision as a passer, competitive fire and finesse as a finisher will be missed. Mya will continue her career at Davenport and will be a great addition to their program.

Mya made sure that her final Cascades Conference Championship Game ended in a win. She started the scoring for Grass Lake in the first, using an effective pivot to create space from her defender, then knocked down the mid-range jumper. Mya changed directions with her dribble, pushed the tempo in transition, and attacked downhill to earn trips to the free-throw line. She contorted her body to score a tough floater in traffic and took a pop pass hard to the basket for another soft finish off the glass. Mya converted free throws at the line, handled the ball with poise, distributed crisp passes, generated steals on the defensive end, and stepped into a clutch wing three to ignite the Warriors at the beginning of the third quarter. She ended the game with 15 points, seven rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Mya will continue her career at Davenport University following graduation.

Mya made winning plays for Grass Lake against a challenging opponent. Her dribble penetration and facilitation were important factors to the team’s success. Mya distributed accurate passes on the move to cutters and perimeter shooters spotting up. She drove into the paint, used a sudden pull-back dribble, and hit an open teammate for three. Mya picked off passes on defense, crashed the glass to secure rebounds, and buried a long jumper on the wing. She posted a productive stat line of four points, five rebounds, and a game-high seven assists.

Mya, a Davenport University commit, continues to be a key piece for Grass Lake after securing Cascades Conference Second Team recognition last season. Her speed and wingspan make her a disruptive presence defensively, where she frequently alters shots and jumps passing lanes. Offensively, she’s dangerous when driving, using smooth crossovers to get downhill and finish confidently with either hand. Mya also stretches the floor with her reliable three-point stroke and shows strong mechanics and court awareness, making her a versatile playmaker poised for another standout season.

Mya Viegelahn Mya Viegelahn Mya Viegelahn 5'8" | SG/CG Grass Lake | 2026 State MI had another good season for Grass Lake, earning Cascades Conference Second Team honors. She uses her quickness and length to block shots and swipe the ball away on defense. Mya attacks downhill using crossover dribbles and finishes well both hands. She’s an accurate 3-point shooter with good footwork and passing vision. Mya picked up an offer from Davenport in March and will be a solid addition to Michigan Premier 2026-S40.

Mya has made it very clear during the past two years at this prospect camp that she is very comfortable competing on U of M Dearborn’s court. Mya used her length and quickness to stand out as she emphatically blocked shots in the paint and delivered a long pass on the money for an assist in transition She distributed the ball effectively, making a strong overhead pass from the wing to a cutting teammate for another assist. Mya stole the ball away on defense to score a left layup and beat multiple defenders off the dribble to score a contested layup off the glass.

Viegelahn has shown me that she’s willing to put it on the line to help her team get a win. She’ll hit the floor for a loose ball without hesitation. Viegelahn will battle with bigger post players on the glass and isn’t afraid of contact under the rim.

Viegelahn was one of the more impressive players in the gym in Belleville. She showed at the event that she was willing and able to finish with both hands on both sides of the rim. Viegelahn was at her best when playing an aggressive and attacking style of offense. She was able to put defenders on her hip and get downhill with the ball. Viegelahn showed off a nice hesitation move that gave her a step on the dribble drive.

Grass Lake High School is going to have a phenomenal school season this year and I had the blessing of finding another reason why. 2026 Mya Viegelahn Mya Viegelahn Mya Viegelahn 5'8" | SG/CG Grass Lake | 2026 State MI was a top performer during the morning session and she did it in every facet of the game. Mya displayed exceptional ball handling during the stationary drills and was atop her group in stance and ball control. She made a contested layup off one foot, getting to the rim in two dribbles. Mya showed a team first attitude by helping girls fill the correct lines and clapping to keep team energy high. She dropped middle into help and  then closed out fast with control. Mya has length, quickness, handles, positive energy, and shooting accuracy that will make her an outstanding prospect.
