Riley Johnson Riley Johnson 5'10" | CG Heritage Christian | 2028 State IN looked sharp offensively, showing the ability to get to virtually any spot on the floor and operate comfortably within her offensive game. From the opening moments, she displayed confidence and rhythm, making it clear she was in control of her scoring opportunities.
Johnson’s versatility stood out most. She was able to score at all three levels, whether creating space for mid-range looks, attacking gaps to get downhill, or stepping out and knocking down shots from distance. Her ability to stretch the floor and remain effective from multiple areas made her a consistent offensive threat throughout the game. What made her performance even more notable was how easily she was able to generate those looks within the flow of play. She didn’t force action—she simply found her spots and capitalized.
If this type of offensive rhythm continues, Johnson has the potential to be a reliable scoring piece and a tough matchup for opposing defenses throughout the summer and into the upcoming season.

When Riley arrived at Heritage Christian as a Freshman, she was about 5-7 or 5-8. But she continues to grow and grow, and she looks closer to 5-11 now. She is extremely long, and she might even have another inch or two left in her. What’s exciting is, she has maintained her fluidity and athleticism, and she has a pretty smooth offensive game. She glides around the floor, creates for herself and others, plus she’s a good perimeter shooter. Once she finishes growing and adds a little more strength to her frame, she could work her way into the Top 5 as a 6-0+ point guard prospect.

When I first saw Riley during the Summer of 2024, I felt like she would still grow quite a bit, and once she did, plus added strength throughout her career, she could be a real problem. However, at that time I felt like she was a very good wing shooter/scorer, and she has gone on to really work on her handle and passing, improving her all-around point guard play when she’s on the ball. The combination of her height, her length, and her fluidity allow her to play with nice versatility and still typically be taller in most matchups. Look for her to just continue getting better each year.

Riley is beginning to make a name for herself in Hamilton County. A guard with solid length, she can heat up quickly from beyond the arc, making her a tough perimeter matchup. Riley has emerged as a dynamic playmaker for Heritage Christian, leading the team in scoring as a freshman at 14.7 points per game, while also topping the roster in free throw and three-point percentage. With her presence in the backcourt, Heritage Christian is well-positioned to compete for a sectional championship during her tenure.

I was able to see Riley a little last July and throughout the 2024-2025 season, but this Spring and Summer she has just looked different. She is playing with so much more confidence, she’s a lot more aggressive off the dribble, and while she is still a long, wiry prospect, she is seeking contact and drawing and-1 opportunities. She has always been a good shooter, but this newfound aggression and growth as a complete scorer has stood out to me recently.

Riley had an outstanding season for Heritage Christian this Winter, and she has looked equally good this Spring so far. Yesterday, she was in control often, bringing it up in transition, handling the ball and creating offense, plus slowing it down to initiate the offense. She has tremendous length, she’s at least 5’10 now and might still have another inch or two in her, plus she shoots a very good ball. She is already talented, and she should only get better.
