Alexander has definitely added both confidence and pace to her game. She’s figured out her sweet spots and does what she needs to do to get to them. She doesn’t over dribble or under dribble. She moves with intent, and when you’re a focal piece of a program, managing your energy is a major part of the game. Her ability to still provide an impact when she’s more of a piece of the puzzle during AAU shows coaches she can adapt and still figure it out. The defense isn’t something to overlook either. She has strong instincts and consistently finds ways to make plays.

Ryleigh Alexander Ryleigh Alexander 5'9" | PG/SG Pecatonica | 2028 State IL impressed throughout the weekend – most notably shining in transition. Whether taking the ball to the hoop or passing to a teammate, Alexander consistently made the right basketball play. She also displayed a deadly mid-range jump shot from just beyond or just inside the free throw line. When watching Alexander, I found myself humming the words to “Move” by Ludacris – her fluidity and quickness with the basketball helped her weave her way through her opponents and impose her will in the lane. There is no doubt that Alexander is a top player to watch.

Alexander has really developed her game over the past couple of years, and now that she has stepped into more of a focal point role at her high school, that is translating to the travel team as well. From a scoring standpoint, she can get a bucket at every level with minimal dribbling, and when she does, she knows how to hit angles and get to her spots. There is still more room to grow, but as things continue to sharpen, she will keep making noise in this class and across the state.

Alexander will be stepping into a new role when the official high school season begins, and I believe her talent now will allow her to carry the torch and winningness from last year. She plays hard on both ends, she’s active on the boards, and when her offensive skillset starts to sharpen, she can for sure be a player to deal with in her conference.

Ryleigh is a fighter. Loved the way she used both hands to finish. Consistently trying to grab down rebounds and always trying to get her hands on the ball.
