I’ve discussed Paldrmic ad nauseam over the grassroots season this spring and summer. The Oak Creek native is a versatile wing who can attack mismatches on the perimeter or around the basket. She’s comfortable being physical and playing through contact around the rim and has the confidence to shoot from the perimeter when she has space. She isn’t flashy, but she makes winning plays on both ends of the floor and plays smart basketball in her minutes.

The more I’ve seen Paldrimic, the more I’ve liked what she brings to the floor. She’s a high-IQ kid who knows how to maximize her skill set and how to exploit weaknesses in the defense. She can operate with the ball in her hands, read defenses, and make the right play. She also has the size and skill to be a versatile player on both ends of the floor. Doesn’t do anything flashy, but makes winning plays consistently.

Having watched Paldrmic, a couple of times this summer, it is clear that she has taken another jump and looks ready to blow away last season’s numbers of 7.6 points and 3.7 rebounds. Possessing good size, the 5-11 Oak Creek product has used her length, and athleticism, dominating not only on the glass but also in attacking the paint at will where she has both been finishing at a high percentage and finding open teammates for easy buckets.

I felt Padrmic worked her way through a high school season alongside experienced, solid upperclassmen. She was a very different player from when I first saw her at the second iteration of the Kettle Moraine Thanksgiving event, and from when I saw her play against Mukwonago late in the season. She’s a rangey wing who can do a little of everything and has the physical tools to impact the game on both ends of the floor.

Sofija is already approaching 6’0″, and she’s developed a very impressive skillset to go with her size. She’s got a nice stroke, and stays confident shooting from deep, even after a couple of misses.

In the second half of one of her games, she had a really impressive and-1 conversion late in the first half. Sofija has the capacity to take strong drives to the rim and convert in traffic. She’s good with her hands, and has developed the footwork to be elusive when she has the ball in her hands. Sofija herself says that the best aspect of her game is getting to the rim and drawing contact.

And she’s already developed the size to be a defensive disruptor-getting her hands on a lot of tipped balls and deflected shots.

The Oak Creek wing had a productive first season of basketball with the Knights. Paldrmic would play a role on a team with established talent and would find a way to express herself within that role. She is a confident player who doesn’t hesitate with the ball in her hands, and she showed she could be a difference-maker against older players at the high school level. I’m excited to see what she can do in a setting where she will have a more prominent role.
