Expert Analysis
Charles Foster | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Sophia is a crowd favorite due to her team-first approach and consistent effort on both ends of the floor. Rather than chasing points, she focuses on doing the little things that lead to wins—grabbing crucial rebounds, guarding the opponent’s top offensive threat, and consistently running the floor. Her willingness to do what many others won’t makes her an invaluable asset to any team.

Sophia looked comfortable in the Bulldogs offense as she didn’t need to be the focal player. She got to her spots and moving with confidence and was efficient with the ball in her hands. She attacked the rim forcefully, embracing and drawing contact enabling her to get to the line repeatedly. Her size and skillset should compliment any system at the next level.

is a fluid athlete who jumps out at you when you watch her. She moves better than the bigs she matches up with, and I like her activity on the glass. She blocked a few shots, and I saw her push the ball a few times in the open floor. She is a highly impactful two-way big for Bullis.

Sophia tweaked something in her leg but pushed through the entire showcase with frequent visits to the trainer and some ice. She was one of the top rebounders, especially on the offensive end. She earned herself multiple opportunities inside to score just off of her hustle and effort. Battling through pain she didn’t let up making her the toughest player in the building.

Sophia is an interesting player. She is incredibly talented and it shows in the right system. Looks like she has transferred schools which more than likely will force her into being the leader and the go to player. In a showcase environment such as the PGH Expo she will be free to showcase skills that we may not always see in a structured environment. I’m excited to see what she brings.

Sophia is getting better each time we see her. She is mastering the baseline drive after the pump fake. She attacks tight and puts her shoulder against the hip of the defender. Her shot is improving as well which will open up her total game.

Sophia was up for her game against Georgetown Day. She unleashed everything in her arsenal and it looked really good. The best I’ve seen her play and she was amongst the best players in the building. She was blocking shots, attacking the basket, shooting the three and running in transition, she played a complete game on both sides.

Sophie has been solid inside getting a huge bump up after a couple of showing in the fall. She has improved her mobility from last spring and her rebounding and finishing as been consistent. She will have a lot of opportunities this season to show what she can do and why she is a top 5 player. If she continues to improve at her pace she can not only stay a top 5 but can possibly move up.
