About Sophia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I always look to rebound first, everything else falls into place. I can play back to basket well with defenders taller than me, and use my post moves. But I love to attack off the dribble as well, which can lead to a mid range shot, drive finish with a move, or a kick out to a teammate that’s open. I’m always trying to lead on the court in every aspect especially communication on defense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentally is to always compete, when game day comes I’m ready because the work is already done. Grind practices, perfects, ployos, film and lifts have me ready. There will always be someone who’s bigger, faster, stronger, a better shooter or defender but my job is to expose whatever weakness they have and use it to my advantage. Overall I love to be a competitor and that aspect of basketball.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m currently involved in HOSA, FFA, and CLAW; a community based student leadership club.

What type of college are you looking for?

Schools that are high academically with a great athletic culture that I can contribute to.
