Summer, a senior guard for Portland, brings a dynamic and powerful presence to the floor. Summer was a 2026 prospect we knew college coaches would be excited to see, and she delivered an impressive performance under the spotlight at the Headliners Invitational. Summer looked like she was shot out of a cannon on her drives. She motored down the lane and scored with powerful finishes. Summer poked the ball out with quick hands to create steals, avoided defenders with great footwork to finish in traffic, earned trips to the foul line, and scored using sweet spin moves in the lane. She knocked down jumpers and turned in a terrific two-way effort. Summer took home an MVP t-shirt and is a First Team All-Showcase selection.

Summer was a top performer for Team Wings, showcasing her ability to score in a variety of ways. She consistently attacked off the dribble, using her strength and balance to finish through contact and elevate off two feet for controlled, powerful finishes. Her spin move in the lane and up-and-over touch around defenders stood out, displaying her creativity and poise in traffic. On the defensive end, she was just as impactful—using quick hands and strong positioning to force turnovers and make life difficult for opposing guards.

Summer has the fundamental skills, toughness, and physicality to play inside or on the perimeter. She works hard on defense and muscles her way into a rebounding position. Summer pours in timely three-pointers, drives by defenders for layups, and finishes with strength. She’ll be a 2026 prospect for college coaches to focus on during the Headliners Invitational.

Summer’s scrappy tenacity and toughness make her an exciting guard to watch. She took her game up a level in the second half to score 11 of her 13 points with 6 coming in the fourth quarter. One of her best plays happened when she outjumped a defender for a high pass, the defender bounced to the floor, and Summer regained her balance to bury a cold-blooded three. She drove hard to the basket and scored multiple contested layups after beating defenders off the dribble. Summer’s contribution was crucial to Portland’s victory on Wednesday.

Summer is a guard who performs a variety of skills well on the court to help her team succeed. She demonstrates toughness on defense by taking charges, cuts off ball-handlers with her lateral defense, utilizes effective footwork to score inside, and drives hard through defenders off the dribble. Summer is a GLUE type of player who I anticipate will have a huge role for the Raiders this winter.
