We were impressed with Clemens when we watched her at the PGH Freshman Showcase back in the fall. She did all the little things well, brought a positive attitude to the game, and showed the signs of a high basketball IQ. At Saturday’s PGH Minnesota Shootout we saw all of that and more. The North Tartan EYCL forward was aggressive on the offensive glass, spaced the floor in transition, set effective ball screens, and played hard on every single possession. Standing at 6 feet tall with a high degree of athleticism, strong work ethic, and Swiss Army Knife approach to the game, Sydney already has all the makings of a successful college player.

Clemens, a 6-foot forward from Wayzata, is a well-rounded contributor who thrives on energy, communication, and effort. She’s vocal, physical, and relentless – defending multiple positions and hitting the glass hard on both ends. Clemens plays a basic but effective brand of basketball, combining her length and strength to make an impact in every role. Her improving perimeter shot adds another dimension, while her work ethic and leadership make her invaluable . Always engaged and encouraging, Clemens embodies the toughness, versatility, and unselfishness that coaches love to build around.

Clemens gave a great all-around performance at the Freshman Showcase, offering plenty to take notice of. The 6’0 forward brings energy to every aspect of the game; she’s aggressive on the boards, a vocal cheerleader for her teammates, and a tireless defender. Sydney showed signs of a high basketball IQ, and was instrumental to Team 5’s success. A versatile, utility player, the Wayzata freshman plays a simple, but highly effective game. A strong AAU season with North Tartan EYCL, combined with her performance at the showcase give Clemens a strong case for a spot in the initial 2029 rankings.
