About Violet
Expert Analysis
Ally McGinnis | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Good sportsmanship is something that has a greater impact than it may seem, and is crucial to have in the game of basketball. Hammer is not just an explosive, quick and skilled guard, but her sportsmanship shone through at the Sophomore ID Camp. No matter the team she plays with, the 5’7 guard is constantly lifting up her teammates, bringing the energy, and can also be that finishing piece of positivity her team needs. Violet plays with a passion for the game, but especially for the people she’s playing with. This unselfish outside shooter creates an impact with assists, her speedy footwork on defense, and being a positive force both on and off the floor.

Hammer flashed her explosiveness throughout the day, capitalizing on opportunities when they presented themselves. Off the ball, she excelled at moving and relocating, which created open looks from beyond the arc—shots she knocked down with confidence. On the defensive end, she brought energy and activity, using her quick hands to disrupt the offense with deflections and generate extra possessions for her team.
