I’m not sure what I was exactly expecting out of Vivenne McCorkle during this showing but she did a great job of making herself known whenever the rock was in her possession throughout the day. You can watch McCorkle compete for five minutes and tell that her first goal in mind is to hit someone with a nifty assist coming down the floor. She attacks off the dribble with calculated aggression every time but it’s usually not to score. It’s to open things up for others around her. With how well she can handle things, she is very good at using angles to get an advantage on her defensive matchups, which almost leads to a sweet assist in one way or another by the talented PG. Don’t get it twisted though. This is someone that can also knock down a shoot or two from close AND deep when the defense falls asleep. This Winter we are going to see McCorkle competing at the Varsity level and I’m excited to watch what she is going to put together with the rest of the Bettendorf crew.

Viv McCorkle is the name to know out of the Quad Cities moving into this Winter. McCorkle, little sister of current Houston PG, Alyvia McCorkle – will have a chance to be better than big sis. That’s usually how this goes. Whenever you have a younger sibling, they turn out to be better than the older one most of the time because they sit behind them, spectate, and learn from afar for years before ever picking up a ball. Viv is the first 2031 with a D1 offer in Iowa and from what I’m being told, she will be a Varsity participant this Winter as an 8th grader so now we get to see how far ahead of her Age level she is in reality. This is someone that is going to be in the conversation for Top Five out of the 2031 Class when it comes to the Rankings moving into this Winter – now we just have to see where she falls within that LOADED group.

Vivienne McCorkle Vivienne McCorkle 5'6" | PG IA is the first prospect from the 2031 Class in Iowa with a Division-1 offer. This first offer comes from The Chicago State Cougars out of the city. The rest of Iowa should be able to see McCorkle live this Winter on the Varsity floor with Bettendorf High School but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. With the new rule in place that 8th graders can play up, I expect this to be one of those prospects that we hear a lot about out of the 2031 Class over the next eight months. From what we have seen so far out of McCorkle, this is a player that could grow into someone special over the next 4-5 seasons. She already makes good choices with the ball, her athletic ability is impressive for her age, and she competes with a chip on her shoulder mentality. As long as she continues to love the process, she is going to go places within this game. You can already tell.
