Day one of the She Got Game Classic had some good matchups. Some games went down to the wire and there were many good individual performances. Games ran at five different locations on multiple courts and Prep Girls Hoops Maryland had a chance to check out some of the action.

<span style="color: #993300;text-decoration: underline"><strong>Kennedy Fauntleroy - Rock Creek Christian Academy</strong></span>

The freshman Fauntleroy scored 26 points in the loss to American Heritage (FL). She shot the ball well with three 3-pointers. RCCA was a late replacement to the tournament and Kennedy's name hadn't been added to the books but, college coaches quickly found out who she was.
<span style="color: #993300;text-decoration: underline"><strong>Janya Lilly - Baltimore Polytechnic</strong></span>
Senior Janya Lilly scored 16 points in the first half as the Lady Engineers went on to route Holy Child. Lilly was able to get to the basket at will in the win finishing with 24 points.
<span style="color: #993300;text-decoration: underline"><strong>Kaylah Ivey - Riverdale Baptist</strong></span>

Kayla held down the Crusaders wire to wire scoring the first bucket of the game and the last with a game winning free throw with a few seconds on the clock. She had a game high 17 points and they all were needed in the 51-50 victory for Riverdale Baptist.
<span style="text-decoration: underline"><strong><span style="color: #993300;text-decoration: underline">Nyceara Pryor - Western</span></strong></span>

Nyceara played great on ball defense getting six steals to go along with her 17 points. The freshman had a great showing in front of about 15 college coaches as Western defeated the William Monroe out of Virginia 79-70.
<span style="color: #993300;text-decoration: underline"><strong>Jenae Dublin - Gwynn Park</strong></span>

Janae Dublin scored 19 points and added 8 rebounds and 2 blocks as the Yellow Jackets fell short losing to Hudson Catholic (NJ) 53-47. The 6'3" junior scored most of her points in the paint and at the free throw line but she also knocked down a three pointer in the loss.
<span style="color: #993300;text-decoration: underline"><strong>Vashe' Rideout - Western</strong></span>

Vashe' played spectacular while spending a lot of time matched up with Monroe's Notre Dame commit <em>Samantha Brunelle</em>. She showed no fear as she scored 14 of her team high 20 points in the second half when the game was on the line.
<span style="color: #993300;text-decoration: underline"><strong>Yanni Hendley - Riverdale Baptist</strong></span>

Yanni was hot in the first half setting the tone for the game scoring all of her 10 points in the half. She focused on the defensive end in the second half getting deflections on a lot off passes.
<span style="color: #993300;text-decoration: underline"><strong>Denai Bowman - Gwynn Park</strong></span>

Denai scored 8 points in the first quarter as Gwynn park to a 20-7 lead to end the period. The lead fell apart by halftime and the Yellow Jackets found themselves trailing big in the third. Denai tried to battle back scoring 12 of her game high 20 points in the second half but, Gwynn Park fell a little short losing 53-47.
<span style="color: #993300;text-decoration: underline"><strong>Ciara Harris - Rock Creek Christian Academy</strong></span>

Ciara Harris played well scoring 20 points (8-9 from the line) in their loss to American Heritge (FL). Her shot looked good as she knocked down a couple 3-pointers from NBA range.
<span style="color: #993300;text-decoration: underline"><strong>Sanaya Gray - Western</strong></span>
Gray stepped up in a big way with the Doves trailing in the fourth quarter she rallied attacking the basket scoring 11 of her 13 points in the pivotal final period. She was 5 for 6 for the free throw line in the final minutes as Western took down William Monroe.
