Some of the best players in the nation loaded into Livonia Churchill’s field house and HYPE athletics to compete in front of over 100 college coaches. In particular, the 2022 class had some very good showings and showed that the future of girls basketball is in great hands. This is a list of standout 2022 performances.
Kyla Oldacre – At 6’4 with a college ready frame, Oldacre showed off an impressive skillset for All Ohio Express. She put the ball on the floor multiple times and got to the rim with ease. Oldacre shows traits of being a traditional big with sprinkles of the new do it all style that makes her an intriguing prospect to keep an eye on.
Taylor Anderson – Taylor Anderson played well for the Michigan Crossover all weekend, showing her grit and toughness to get to the basket and finish some tough baskets at the rim. Taylor is shifty and has a knack for scoring the ball. She has had a great spring with the Crossover and looks to build on that going into the summer session.
Faith Walker – Walker is 6’1 and can play small forward or power forward for her 1Nation 15u squad, she powered her with two different 20 point outbursts, rebounding tenaciously and scoring at the rim with ease. Walker had her coming out party to pace her team to an undefeated weekend, often playing long minutes and sitting down minimally.
Jordan Wright – Jordan Wright is a 2022 point guard who is playing up 2 age groups. Jordan is lightning quick and hard to guard. Wright’s speed with the ball in her hands reminds you of Lyza Winston. She started out the weekend strong, blowing by defenders and putting on a show in front of college coaches.
Alexia Mobley – I first saw Mobley as an 8th grader playing on the 16u circuit last year, now she is a freshman playing 17u and doing a pretty good job. Mobley is still raw but at 6’2 with potential to do more than just be a wing. Mobley hit jump shots, blocked shots and attacked the rim all weekend to cement her status as a can’t miss prospect in the 2022 class.
