Question:
You recently committed to Concordia. How does it feel?
Alize Tripp:
I feel amazing! A great sense of relief to finally be able to call Concordia my home. One of the best decisions I’ve made for myself and my family.
Question:
What part of college basketball are you most excited about?
Alize Tripp:
I am most excited to be a part of a great program filled with amazing and talented young women. I love to play at a fast pace and I want to help my team be successful on/off the court.
Question:
What set Concordia apart?
Alize Tripp:
Definitely the coaching staff! They are truly special people who care about me and God put them in my path for this journey. The relationships that were built over the past year have been nothing short of genuine and was more than just an offer on the table. To feel appreciated and loved is awesome.
Question:
You had an excellent grassroots season. How do you feel about your improvement?
Alize Tripp:
We definitely had an amazing season and I’m going to miss playing with them. The area in which I’ve improved the most is driving/attacking and finishing at the basket. Whether it was with a spin move, euro step, or an up and under, I worked a lot on those moves and implemented them on some really good players. I also stepped more into a leadership role by supporting my girls, taking a ‘back seat’ if needed, or whatever my team needed to get the WIN!
Question:
What was your best basketball moment this summer?
Alize Tripp:
I’ve loved every minute of being on/off the court with my team. One of my favorite moments in particular was winning the USJN Premier Showcase in Indy. That definitely started our July off right and gave us the momentum to keep digging deep and going out with a bang for my last travel season.
Question:
What are you doing this fall to prepare for high school season?
Alize Tripp:
Dual sporting in the fall is hard work but rewarding and will definitely pay off for my last season. I’m running 4 miles a day with my cross country team before volleyball practice while working on my vertical as a right/left hitter, cardio and strength training in the gym, and of course still getting some shots up and working on my ball handling.
Question:
Is there a game you’re looking forward to next season?
Alize Tripp:
Of ccourse…..our first conference game against Grass Lake. Then our second, we’ll meet back up with them in Districts. I love my Premier family but it’s no holds barred in high school!
Question:
What was the biggest key in becoming the great basketball player you are today?
Alize Tripp:
My support system! Coaches, family and friends, but most of all my best friend, my Mom. She has pushed me every single day and I couldn’t be more thankful to have her on my side. Without her tough love and honesty, I wouldn’t be able to improve on my weaknesses and excel at the things I am naturally good at. Overall it’s been hard work on the court and in the classroom, dedication, passion, and the love I have for this game that has molded me into the player and person I am today.
