Our upcoming Top 250 Expo on Sunday will feature a few of the top 2020 players in the state as well as some of the unheralded players looking to make an impact. Below you can find some thoughts on 2020 uncommitted prospects who are going to be in attendance.
Maggie Hall – 5’5 PG – Valley HS
Hall is a tough guard on both ends of the floor. Much improved from last year, Hall is going to be a key player for Valley this upcoming season. She’s a leader on the floor and has the ability to change the game with her pace. There are numerous colleges coming to the event that should leave impressed with Hall.
Jenna LaDage – 5’9 SF – Solon HS
LaDage has come into her own over the past year. She shot the ball well over the summer and she is strong enough to bounce down into the paint. I really enjoy seeing her play because she can do many different things on the floor. I think this Expo will really benefit her from an exposure standpoint.
Payton McHone – 5’8 PF – Jesup HS
McHone is quietly becoming one of my favorite players to watch. She’s a bit undersized for a forward but she is stronger than most opponents. She has a solid base which allows her to score on the inside. McHone has continued to develop her skills and should start to draw the interest of small colleges.
Samantha Stewart – 5’8 SF – Mount Ayr HS
I am glad that Stewart will be playing in this event because it is likely that a lot of players around the state don’t know who she is. She scored over 20 points a game last year and will likely up that number this season. She’s likely an unknown, but won’t be for long.
Abby Welter – 5’9 SF – Cascade HS
Welter had a solid junior campaign and is looking to turn that into a great senior season. After playing well over the summer, Welter is still looking for the right fit. She has the ability to score at all three levels and as she continues to gain consistency will become much more confident. I look for her to gain some additional college interest after this event.
