Izzy Munson – Fairview – 5’9” – 2020 Point Guard
Izzy is arguably one of the best Point Guards in the state. She is a fantastic scorer with the mindset of a true competitor. Averaging 23.9 points and shooting 84% from the free-throw line, it should come as no surprise that she has 167 points and 22 assists on the season so far. Izzy is a complete floor general who is vocal with her leadership and encouragement. On defense, she is averaging just over four steals and five rebounds a game.
Aryannah McClain – Aurora Central – 5’3” – 2021 Guard
McClain has been named Player of the Game 14 times in her career. She’s a high motor player who scores on a consistent basis. She has recorded over 50 points in just three games this season thanks to her ability to drive to the hole and make the hard shots. Aryannah leads by example, do not underestimate this player.
Abbie Gillach – Boulder – 5’5” – 2021 Guard
Abbie is really starting to come into her own as a Point Guard. She’s a vocal leader who never stops hustling on the court. Her game is effective on both sides of the ball. She’s a tough defender who gets rebounds and causes turnovers, forcing opponents to be aware of her presence at all times. Offensively, Abbie is either adding to her assist numbers or her score count.
Nikki Derrell – Sand Creek – 2021 Guard
Nikki is an absolutely electrifying basketball player. The 2018-2019 All-State Honorable Mention player is averaging 15 points a game this season. She is truly a selfless leader who makes sure to include the rest of the team in the action. Nikki is the type of player who can not only set the tempo of a game but can control it as well. Be on the lookout for her to have a phenomenal season.
Alex Sorokach – Nederland – 5’10” – 2020 Power Forward
Alex is a great athlete who stays locked in. She knows how to use her height to make her presence felt as a defender, especially around the paint. Her length and awareness make her a nightmare for would-be pass attempts. Over the course of three games this season, she had 12 deflections and 18 rebounds. On offense, she is averaging 4 assists a game making her great at setting up her teammates for scores. Alex is definitely a sleeper.
Paulina Calzado – Strive Prep – 5’8” – 2021 Guard/Forward
Paulina is a high-motor player with great ball control. She brings a presence that commands respect, especially when on defense. Her closeout technique has fundamentals written all over it. Her physical strength and skill as a defender make her a tough opponent to get around. Calzado is definitely another hidden talent.
Olivia Killion – Chatfield – 5’10” – 2021 Power Forward
Olivia is the perfect “supporting cast” type of player. Her hustle seems to be driven by her determination to ensure key involvement on both sides of the ball. She’s unafraid to go up and fight for rebounds. She’s a true Power Forward with great speed and vision. It’s almost as if she can recognize passing lanes before they open up. Olivia isn’t just capable of assisting the flow of her team, she plays a part in steering it.
Emma Bagley – Boulder – 6’2” – 2020 Forward
Along with Emma’s height comes Emma’s strength. She knows how to use her size at the rim, especially when it comes to getting boards. She’s averaging just over six rebounds a game. Her defensive skill set makes her a force to be reckoned with. She’s tallied over nine blocks and 21 defensive rebounds going into the Winter break. Emma is definitely a player with a great upside.
Adaya Richmond – Fairview – 5’5” – 2020 Guard
The two words to describe Adaya as an athlete are “dangerously fast.” She’s quick enough to disrupt opposing offenses and too fast for defenders to contain. Her energy forces the tempo of the entire game whenever she’s on the court. She has 21 defensive boards, 15 steals, and over 17 assists on the season so far. Keep your eye on Adaya and try not to blink because she’ll be gone before you know it.
