Continue ReadingSleepers” can be defined in many ways. They could be a player that may not get the press that they deserve, they could get more looks from scouts and/or college coaches, or have a ton of potential. We will look at some sleepers in the junior class that coaches and fans should definitely be aware of.
Megan Crow (C, Gladstone)
It’s hard to “sleep” on a 6’4″ center, but Crow is just at the tip of the iceberg as far as her potential. She’s not just tall, but athletic as well, and can get off the floor. Crow makes it nearly impossible for opponents to get clean looks at the rim in the paint.
India Respress (SF, Chandler Park)
The talented backcourt (with 2 of the top 20 in the class of 2021) may get the headlines, but Repress is just as important to the teams success. She’s a plus defender, an active rebounder, and an efficient scorer.
Rylie Kelley (SG, Three Rivers)
She had a strong spring and summer, and has continued to impress. Kelley has been underrated, but keeps performing. She’s a multi level scorer and can get hot with her jumper. Scouts and coaches at the next level should really see her play.
Evie Doezema (C, Grand Rapids Christian)
She’s a post player with a huge upside. Doezema is always a threat for a double-double and is a solid post defender.
Nya Thomas (CG, Belleville)
Thomas seems to be a very consistent player. You always know one thing for sure: That you’ll get a Grade A effort out of her. Thomas is a workhorse through and through.
Jenna Harrison (SG, Kent City)
I already moved Harrison way up my prospect rankings and I think she’ll force others to as well. Harrison can flat out shoot, and that’s a skill that should transfer to the next level.
Sarah Soraghan (PG, Royal Oak)
I really like her game. She’s a true floor general that can run and guide an offense. Soraghan can put points on the board as well, and seems to recognize when her team needs her to do so.
