These girls were able to score in many different ways, whether it be from turnovers in transition, attacking the basket at will, or knocking down big shots from behind the arc. Here is the Class of 2022 top 10 scorers from the area:
TaNasia Hairston – Guard – Magna Vista
2019-20 Stats: 22 points per game, 53.4 fg%, 73.3 ft%, 40.8 3pt%
TaNasia is a quick guard who turns turnovers into points, scoring most of her points in transition. She is also consistent from behind the arc, scoring over 330 points on the season.
Karsyn Reed – Guard – Giles
2019-20 Stats: 19.8 points per game, 70.9 ft%, 36.3 3pt%
Karsyn is a 5’8 guard who plays hard throughout the game, turning defense into offense and scoring in transition. She drives hard to the basket and can also shoot from the three-point line, scoring over 356 points on the season.
Kennedy Scales – Guard – Salem
2019-20 Stats: 18 points per game, 80.3 ft%, 39.7 3pt%
Kennedy is an athletic guard who has a relentless attack on the basket, playing aggressively throughout the game. She can also spot up or pull up from behind the arc and shoot the three-pointer consistently.
Hannah Huffman – Guard/Forward – Auburn
2019-20 Stats: 17.8 points per game, 78.6 ft%
Hannah is a 5’9 guard who can also play the forward position with her toughness. She has a sweet mid-range shot, able to score in the post, and is also able to shoot well from behind the arc, scoring over 231 points on the season.
Jeni Levine – Guard – Staunton River
2019-20 Stats: 14.3 points per game, 73.9 ft%, 34.9 3pt%
Jeni is an elusive and intense guard who attacks the basket aggressively, finishing strong with either hand. Her confident and aggressive style of play allows her to score in transition and shoot the ball well, knocking down big shots from behind the arc, scoring over 286 points on the season.
Abbie Baker – Forward – Salem
2019-20 Stats: 14 points per game, 71.6 ft%
Abbie is a tough post player, using many post moves to score at will. She also gets her points from offensive rebounds and going back up strong.
Emilie McCaskill – Guard – William Byrd
2019-20 Stats: 13.6 points per game, 76.1 ft%, 35.7 3pt%
Emilie uses her high basketball IQ to play the passing lanes, turning steals into easy transition points. She can also spot up and shoot from behind the arc, scoring over 250 points on the season.
Shelby Fiddler – Guard – Patrick Henry
2019-20 Stats: 13.3 points per game, 72.9 ft%, 38.6% 3pt%
Shelby is a tremendous shooter with high basketball IQ, being able to create her own shot or moving without the ball to find the open shot. She has scored over 250 points on the season.
Ally Fleenor – Forward/Center – Pulaski County
2019-20 Stats: 10.8 points per games, 47.5 fg%, 71.6 ft%
Ally is a strong post player who uses her strength to score on the inside. She gets offensive rebounds and goes back up strong, scoring through contact. Ally can also spot up from behind the arc and knock down big three-point shots.
Delanie Trivitt – Forward – Rural Retreat
2019-20 Stats: 10.7 points per game, 75 ft%, 34.8 3pt%
Delanie is an aggressive player who runs the floor and scores in transition. She is also a confident three-point shooter, scoring over 200 points on the season.
