Nelson doesn’t take any plays off. She gets to the hole and dribbles with a purpose. I liked how she uses both old school drop-steps on the block and finishing moves off the drive.
#35 Carlee Rochford Carlee Rochford 5'10" | PG New Hampton | 2023 State IA — 2023 — New Hampton High School — So-Minn Fury
Rochford is raw, but she has the athleticism and flow for the next level. She drives hard and uses her length. I think she has potential to make a huge jump in the next few years if she develops her skillset.
#32 Lily Vollertsen — 2022 — Syracuse High School — Nebraska Attack
Vollertsen has range for a 6’0” player, but her frame allows her to move like a guard. She has a good jump shot, and I was surprised to see her knock down a three with a quick release right at the start of the game. If she gets more consistent from far away, she could be difficult to guard.
#2 Savannah White Savannah White 6'1" | SG DeLaSalle | 2022 State MN — 2022 — DeLaSalle High School — FBC North
I was impressed when White caught the ball with her back to the basket and hit a swift turnaround jumper— something I don’t see from younger girls’ basketball players. She moves well and sees the court when she’s on the arc or breaking a press.
#34 Maya Nnaji Maya Nnaji 6'4" | PF Hopkins | 2022 State #7 Nation MN — 2022 — Hopkins High School — FBC North
Nnaji is a classic stretch player. She is mobile and smooth, and near the basket, she finishes with a mix of power and touch. She’s 6’4”, but she’ll dive on the floor for a loose ball. She’s a defensive threat near the basket with her length, and she can make crowd-stopping blocks when she defends the paint.
#5 Sahara Williams Sahara Williams 5'11" | SF Waterloo West | 2023 State IA — 2023 — Waterloo West High School — All Iowa Attack
Williams protects the ball when she finishes with a nice reach-out move, and she played well today at the TOC. She dove on the floor and looked smooth in a battle against Minnesota Fury.
#52 Lilly Meister Lilly Meister 6'2" | PF Rochester John Marshall | 2022 State #55 Nation MN — 2022 — John Marshall High School — Minnesota Fury
Meister could be big time, and I say that because she makes 6’2” look extremely athletic. She flows in the offense and cuts hard. I watched her reach and catch a pass behind her in transition and lay it in, no problem.
