Player Of The Weekend – C/O 2024
Now it’s time for the class of 2023.
* If you’re not listed and had a big weekend, it’s just because I missed it. My fault, not yours. Stay in my ear and make sure I see you next time around.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Drue Allen (2023, PG, Olivet, Michigan Mystics 2023 Bouchard)
Allen really put her name on the map this weekend. It’s easy to get excited about watching her game develop over the next couple years.
Macy Brown Macy Brown 5'11" | PG East Grand Rapids | 2023 State MI (2023, CG, East Grand Rapids, MBA)
Brown was simply amazing this weekend. She is a shooter with basically unlimited range. Brown controlled her defenders with her handles and movement off the ball.
Mary Copple Mary Copple 5'7" | PG Brighton | 2023 State MI (2023, PG, Brighton, Michigan Mystics 2023)
Copple is a prospect to keep an eye on for the remainder of the summer and into the fall. She controls the pace and flow of the game from the point. Copple has a nice ceiling as a prospect.
Abby Pasinos Abby Pasinos SG Madison Heights Bishop Foley | 2023 State MI (2023, SG, Madison Heights Bishop Foley, Tri-City Hoopers)
Scorers score, and Pasinos is a scorer at heart. When she gets hot, look out. She had a 24 point game this weekend, also chipping in with 3 steals in the contest.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sarah Rambus Sarah Rambus 6'4" | PF IMG ACADEMY | 2023 State FL (2023, PF, Michigan Mystics Ruh 2022)
It was a tight race for the Player of the Weekend honor, but we decided to go with Rambus. She played up the entire weekend, and did more than just prove she belonged. Rambus ran the floor easily with long strides. She constantly altered, and even blocked, shots. Rambus has soft hands around the rim and strong hands when tearing down a rebound. She quite simply has unlimited amounts of potential.
