They’re coming off of a 76-37 win over Wayne Country Day at the Elite Exposure Big H.I.T. in Fayetteville Tuesday. CPA has a plethora of talent at every position and it certainly showed during this holiday tournament against high quality competition. PGH NC takes a look at some of the standouts from this contest.
Bradyn Griffin (CPA 2021 guard/forward)
Griffin was named game MVP after tallying 21 points for CPA in this contest and deservedly so. The senior came play multiple positions and can score at all three levels efficiently. She’s a two-way force that can handle the ball and make the right decisions while limiting her turnovers. Griffin hails from Northern Virginia and is a Swiss Army knife for this CPA team that’ll be tough to beat as the season goes on.
Precious Ogboko (CPA 2022 forward)
Precious Ogboko is one of the top NC prospects in the 2022 class and is a force on both ends of the floor. She rebounds at a high rate helping her team control the offensive and defensive glass. The junior forward finishes well around the basket and takes advantage of free throws whenever she gets trips to the line. Ogboko is a great complementary piece to this Carolina Prep Academy bunch and she’s a walking double-double whenever she steps on the floor.
Ja’Kea Brunson Ja’Kea Brunson 5'9" | PG Wayne Country Day | 2023 NC (WCDS 2023 guard)
Another game with a 20+ point outing for the sophomore guard from Wayne Country Day. Once again, Brunson showed off her improved three point range and defense. She was the Chargers only real offensive threat over their two games at this event. Also, Brunson surpassed the 1,000 point mark for her career at WCDS as a sophomore in this contest early in the first half. The way this guard scores the rock, she’ll certainly have a great chance at 2,000 points, but that’s for down the road.
