Lindsey Davis, Nodaway Valley (2024)
The top scorer among freshmen in Class 2A is Nodaway Valley’s Lindsey Davis. With 87 points through seven games, the future is bright for Davis on the hardwood.
She also has 30 steals to go along with 22 rebounds and 11 assists. Davis is shooting nearly 47 percent from the field, 45 percent from the 3-point line and 78 percent at the free throw stripe.
Kamryn Kurt, North Linn (2024)
Playing alongside Class of 2024 prospect Macy Boge, Kamryn Kurt has shined bright so far this year. Kurt has 73 points with 37 assists, 24 steals and 16 rebounds in six games for the Lynx.
Kurt is shooting 49 percent from the floor and 40 percent from the 3-point line. Her 37 assists leads North Linn, who enters 2021 unbeaten on the season.
Makena Galetich, South Hamilton (2024)
South Hamilton’s Makena Galetich has both the ability to run the offense and find her own shot within it. The Class of 2024 guard leads the Hawks with 76 points, shooting almost 31 percent from the floor and 32 percent from deep.
Galetich is also tied for the team lead with 43 rebounds, adding in seven assists. But she really makes her calling in forcing turnovers with 28 steals in seven games.
Madison Stowater, Ridge View (2024)
Out at Ridge View, Madison Stowater has quickly jumped on the radar. Stowater has posted 65 points with 32 rebounds, 26 steals and 25 assists in just seven games this year.
Stowater and classmate Shae Dutler have given the Raptors hope for a bright future both this season and in the years to come.
Bradi Krager, Sioux Central (2024)
Sioux Central has been strong to start the year, winning five games including each of the past three. Some of that success comes from the decision to take advantage of newcomers such as Bradi Krager.
Krager has scored 74 points with 23 rebounds, eight steals, eight assists and four blocked shots. She is shooting a strong 44 percent from the field and 41 percent from behind the 3-point line.
