Limon motored to a 6-0 league mark, tops of the returnees. Burlington was 4-2 in the loop, but 4-16 overall. Byers (3-3, 11-12) and Deer Trail (0-6, 9-12) fought for improvement and Genoa-Hugo was in its fourth consecutive year of not fielding a varsity team.
Teams – Burlington, Byers, Deer Trail, Genoa-Hugo and Limon.
Which playoff team advanced the furthest?
Limon, a regular power across the board in small schools, is the only UP team coming off a state showing. The Badgers, again the top seed in the 2A bracket, won their 20th consecutive game, 67-45 over Holly in the quarterfinals. They never got the opportunity to meet No. 4-seed Del Norte.
