After stringing together four consecutive winning seasons, South Tama fell to just 1-21 a year ago. The Trojans were led by a group of underclassmen that cut their teeth on the hardwood. Tylese Rosenberger, a senior, scored 153 points to lead South Tama. She also was second on the squad with 68 rebounds. Adriana Cervantes, a junior, and Shelby Slaven, a senior, are also back.

11 returning players</p>
South Winneshiek took a step back last year, going just 2-18 after winning 12 and 11 games the two seasons before. The Warriors will hope having players such as Janessa Zweibahmer and Clare Courtney returning, things can turnaround. Zweibahmer scored 71 points with 103 rebounds while Courtney added 59 points and 23 assists.

19-5 last year
12 returning players</p>
Another state tournament appearance resulted in a 19-5 season for Southeast Polk, as they battled Johnston in a Class 5A thriller. The Rams feature one of the top players n the state in [player_tooltip player_id="13861" first="Grace" last="Larkins"], who averaged over 21 points per game and five rebounds. [player_tooltip player_id="63020" first="Brooklin" last="Dailey"] is also back after scoring 275 points as a freshman. In all, Southeast Polk as 12 players back with varsity experience.

Southeast Valley won eight games last year, the most for the program since going 9-12 in 2015-16. The Jaguars feature three returning seniors who led the team in Emily Jaeschke, Emily Hemmestad and Chloe Hicks. Jaeschke scored 186 points with 93 rebounds and a team-high 42 assists.

10 returning players</p>
For the third consecutive season, Southeast Warren reached double figures in wins with 10. The Warhawks have done that six times since the 2012-13 season. Junior [player_tooltip player_id="129069" first="Josie" last="Hartman"] returns after posting 15 points on nearly 49 percent shooting from the field. [player_tooltip player_id="127624" first="Alivia" last="Ruble"] and Makayla Ruble had strong freshman seasons and are also back.
